AuPair life goes on

My host parents came back from their wedding on monday around 2 pm. My host mom wanted to go gocery shopping and my host dad had to work so I took care of Gerry. I also ordered a new camera to take better pictures.
The rest of the week passed by without something special happening. On Saturday I prepared my final project for the Niagara Falls class.
The second picture is my favorit sweets here. Frozen waffels with Hot Fudge and whipped creme. The third picture is in a creativity shop. They have soo much Halloween stuff. And it was the end of August. Like Christmas in Germany.

Meine Gasteltern kamen am Montag von der Hochzeit wieder auf der sie waren. Da mein Gastvater noch arbeiten und meine Gastmutter einkaufen wollte hab ich auf Gerry aufgepasst. Außerdem hab ich mir eine neue Kamera bestellt, um bessere Bilder zu machen.
Den Rest der Woche ist nichts besonders mehr passiert. Am Samstag habe ich die Ausarbeitung für meinen Niagara Fälle Kurs gemacht.
Das zweite Bild ist meine Lieblingsnascherei hier. Waffeln mit Hot Fudge (so eine Art Schokocreme) und Sahne. Das dritte Bild ist in einem Bastelladen (oder so ähnlich). Die haben soo viel Halloween Kram. Ich war dort ende August, das ist wie Weihnachten in Deutschland.

On Sunday I met a friend to plan our trip to Boston. It took us about 3.5 hours to book a flight and an airbnb room. Hard work but we made it. After that we've been invited to a guys house to spend the rest of the evening sitting in front of a campfire. We made S'mores (just look at the picture / some cookies with chocolate and marshmallow).

Am Sonntag hab ich mich mit einer Freundin getroffen, um unseren Trip nach Boston zu planen. Es hat 3,5 Stunden gedauert einen Flug und ein airbnb Zimmer zu buchen. Harte Arbeit, aber wir haben es geschafft. Danach waren wir bei einem Typ eingeladen, um den Rest des Abends am Lagerfeuer zu sitzen. Wir haben S'mores gemacht (guckt euch einfach das Bild an / Keks mit Schokolade und Marshmallow).

The next week started with Labor Day. We went to a winery and spend the afternoon there with my host parents friends. I did a winetasting, the first in my whole life. It was pretty cool.

Die nächste Woche fing mit dem Labor Day an (amerikanische Variante vom Tag der Arbeit). Wir sind zu einer Winzerei gefahren und haben den Nachmittag mit Freunden meiner Gasteltern verbracht. Ich habe eine Weinprobe gemacht. Die erste in meinem ganzen Leben, es war echt ganz cool. 

Wednesday morning was the worst morning since I've been here. I fell down the stairs. And to make it even worse I had Gerry (my host child) on my arm. I hit my back a little and my hand but I was ok. Gerry cried for about half an hour and he didn't stopped. I was so happy that my hostdad was still at home. We all went to the doctor and after that to the hospital and they figured out that he is fine, ecept his food was sprained. So not as bad as it could have been but still bad. That evening I was not sure if I would be able to care for Gerry the next day, because he would not be able to walk. I talked to my best friend and my host parents and they helped me calm down. On Thursday it worked out perfectly. 
On Friday I took a long walk and took a photo of the highway, because it's diffrent than in Germany because of the HOV lanes and all the overpasses.    

Mittwoch Morgen war der schlimmste Morgen seit ich in den USA angekommen war. Ich bin die Treppe runter gefallen und als wäre das nicht schon schlimm genug, hatte ich auch noch Gerry auf meinem Arm. Ich hab mir meinen Rücken gestoßen und nen Kratzer an der Hand gehabt, war aber ansonsten ok. Gerry hat für etwa eine halbe Stunde geweint und nicht aufgehört. Ich war sehr froh, dass mein Gastvater noch zuhause war. Wir sind zusammen zum Arzt und danach ins Krankenhaus gefahren und sie haben herausgefunden, dass Gerry ok ist, mit der Ausnahme, dass er sich den Fuß verstaucht hat. Abends war ich mir nicht sicher, ob ich es schaffen würde, den nächsten Tag auf Gerry aufzupassen. Ich hab mit meinem besten Freund und meinen Gasteltern geredet und das hat wirklich gut geholfen. Donnerstag hat alles super funktioniert.
Freitag habe ich einen langen Spaziergang gemacht und ein Foto von den Amerikanischen Autobahnen gemacht. Die sind nämlich anders als in Deutschland wegen den HOV lanes (in der Mitte eine Spur, die je nach Tageszeit in die eine oder andere Richtung geschaltet wird. Wenn mindestens 3 Personen im Auto (oder Bus) sitzen ist die Fahrt dort kostenlos, wenn es weniger sind kostet es, je nach Tageszeit und Verkehr, Geld) und den ganzen Autobahn Überführungen (overpasses).

On Saturday was another Niagara Falls class. We went to 3 museums, not my favorite but better than the Sunday before. On Sunday I just relaxed because of the hard week.

Am Samstag war wieder ein Niagara Fälle Kurs. Wir sind in 3 Museen gewesen (ist das Kunst oder kann das weg), nicht grade meine Lieblingsbeschläftigung aber besser als am Sonntag davor. Sonntag habe ich mich nur von der harten Woche erholt.
