Letzter Stopp Zentral Amerika

Guatemala neigt sich langsam dem Ende zu, nirgendwo anderst kann man dieses besser genießen als in Antigua. Die Stadt war vor langer Zeit Haupstadt von Guatemala, außerdem zeichnet sich Antigua durch ihre vielen Kirchen aus. Das Guatemala wunderschöne Landschaften hat, wisst ihr ja bereits, doch das Highlight haben wir uns zum Schluss aufgehoben. Antigua ist umgeben von einigen zum Teil aktiven Vulkanen. Da hätten wir zum einen den höchsten Vulkan den Acatenango (3976m), den Agua (3760m), den aktiven Fuego (3763m), der mehrmals täglich Eruptionen aufweist und zum Anderen den Pacaya (2552m).

Alle diese Vulkane kann man besteigen, so beschlossen wir einen halben Tag für den Pacaya einzuplanen. Wem es zu anstrengend ist zu Fuß hoch zu wandern, kann sich ein Pferd mieten. Wir gingen mit unseren eigenen gesunden Füßen. Die Aussicht auf die anderen Vulkane hat sich echt gelohnt. Der Abstieg führt uns über 15m hohem Lavagestein, das vor zwei Jahren noch glühend heißes Magma war. An manchen stellen ist der Stein so heiß, dass man sogar Marshmallows grillen kann. Gesagt getan 😋. 

Des Weiteren unternahmen wir viele kleine Tagesausflüge. Z.B. zum Restaurant San Christobal El Alto. Oben angekommen hat man den Besten Ausblick auf Antigua (unsrer Meinung nach). Das Besondere am Restaurant ist auch die Zubereitung deren Essens und zwar produzieren sie so viel wie möglich an Lebensmittel selber. Organisches Food sozusagen. 

An einem Tag hatten wir uns die Stadt Antigua selbst angesehen mit seinem Markt, dem Central Park und die besagten Kirchen. Unter anderem haben wir uns im Hotel Santa Domigo umgesehen, das um alte Ruinen, des früheren Tempels'Santa Domingo' erbaut wurde und im Innenhof noch teilweise zu sehen ist.

Die letzten Tage in Guatemala haben wir also entspannt ausklingen lassen und wir freuen uns schon auf Brasilien.

this are our last  days in Guatemala and the City Antigua is the best place to enjoy the Country. Antigua was for a couple of years the capital  of Guatemala and the City have many churches. We all know now, that Guatemala have a beautiful landscape but the Highlight comes till the end. The City is surrounded of many Vulcans. We have the highest Vulcan Acatenango (3976m), the Agua (3760m), the activ Vulcan Fuego (3763m), which has a Eruption mabye  twice per day and at least the Pacaya (2552m).

You can hike of all those Vulcans, so we decided to go to the Pacaya Vulcan. The Filmbuch is not so exhausting, but if you want you can rent a horse to the top. We hike both with our healthy legs. The view to the other vulcans was amazing. The descent leaded us over a lavastonefield which is 15meters deep. For two years ago the Field was glowing hot magma. On some parts of the Field are so hot you can broil marshmallows. Said and done 😋 

Also we did some daytrips in Antigua. For example, we went up to the Restaurant San Chrisrobal El Alto. On the top you have the best view over Antigua (in our opinion). The special thing is, that they try us much as possible to produce their food by themselves. Organic food. 

One day we walked though Antigua and visited the market, the central park and the churches. Also we went to the Hotel Santa Domingo. The Hotel was build around the old Ruins of the Santa Domingo Templo. At the Inside you can see the Ruins, a museum and the Hotel as well. 

So you can see we had realy relaxed last days and we are very exaiting about Brazil.
