The Marina Bay Sands Hotel

Veröffentlicht: 09.11.2018

The Marina Bay Sands Hotel is not only a hotel with over 2500 rooms but also an entertainment complex. The hotel consists out of three towers, that have 55 stories each. At the top, they're brought together to a rooftop garden, called the "Sands Skypark." The park includes three restaurants, bars, nightclubs and also a 146-meter long infinity pool, that gives you a breathtaking view over the skyline of Singapore. The hotel features over 50 restaurants, two museums, a theater, a casino, an underground shopping mall with over 400 shops and an ice rink.

When I arrived at the Changi Airport in Singapore, it took me a 20 minutes ride to get to my hotel, the Marina Bay Sands. I can recommend this hotel, and I think that it is the number one place to stay when visiting Singapore. If you're staying in this hotel, you should at least plan one full day to spend in the hotel.

My highlights in the hotel:

THE ROOMS

You can choose between harbor view and city view. Harbor view rooms are located on the 40th floor and higher and have a balcony, whereas city view rooms are located on floors 19 to 39 and have no balcony. I prefer the view from the city view room compared to the view from the harbor view room. I would highly recommend you the city view room since this room is even less expensive than the harbor view room.

LAVO RESTAURANT & ROOFTOP BAR

You definitely shouldn't miss out lunch or dinner at Lavo. I can recommend the Avocado Toast for the starter, the Penne Carbonara for the  main course, and the delicious Tiramisu for dessert. Every evening between 5 pm and 7 pm, you can enjoy two drinks for one, while enjoying the beautiful view and sunset of Singapore. Try to come at around 6 o'clock, so you still can find a nice place to sit. My tip: Lavo Mule ;)

INFINITY POOL

The pool and jacuzzi have a pleasant temperature of around 27°C and are open from 6 o'clock in the morning till 11 o'clock at night. The swimming pool has an incredible view over the skyscrapers and bay of Singapore. You should not miss out the bath during night time, but also during the daytime. Also, don't forget to take some selfies with your white Sangria.

GYM

With the view, that you have in the gym, I can guarantee you that you'll run double of the distance, you'd typically run. The gym has high-tech gym equipment and has everything for a sweat-inducing workout.

THE SHOPPES AT MARINA BAY SANDS

The best advantage we enjoyed is the shopping mall belonging to the hotel. Whenever you need something, you can always go there, even at night wearing your bathing coats and slippers.

I wasn‘t shure whether I should visit Singapore at all. But after reading this travelblog, I surely will. Thank you for giving me clear advice where to stay and where to eat. After seeing the picture of the Tiramisu, I will dream of this desert until I get it!
