25a Wanderung um den Titisee

Da ich auf der gestrigen Etappe den Titisee total verpasst habe, habe ich mir heute die Strafe auferlegt, den ganzen See zu umrunden. 🤣

Nein, das stimmt nicht ganz! Ich hätte das sowieso gemacht! Ich bin zwar nicht mehr der Wanderer wie früher, doch Bewegung tut mir gut, auch wenn ich etwas langsamer bin. Die Durchschnittsgeschwindigkeit habe ich wieder erhöht, indem ich die Heimfahrt mit dem Bus zum Hotel auch mitaufgezeichnet habe.

Leider gibt es hier das Frühstück erst ab 8 Uhr, im Winter allerdings schon um halb acht. Diese Logik verstehe ich nicht ganz. Im Sommer will man doch früh los, wenn ein schöner Wandertag ist und im Winter ist es dann noch stockdunkel. Da mein Bus schon um 08:25 fährt, bleibt da nicht viel Zeit.

Ich konnte aber schon früher anfangen, daher reichte es, und ich erwischte den Bus problemlos. Und nur 20 Minuten später stieg ich in Titisee bei schönstem Wetter schon wieder aus.

Die grösste Sehenswürdigkeit in Titisee ist sicher der gleichnamige See, zumindest habe ich auch im Internet nichts anderes gefunden. Am Ufer des Sees wurden die Boote bereitgestellt. Offenbar wurde mit einem grossen Ansturm gerechnet. Momentan waren die Strassen noch ziemlich leer.

Für mich wäre so eine Rundfahrt auf dem See nicht besonders reizvoll. Der See ist so klein, dass die ganze Rundfahrt bei sehr niedriger Geschwindigkeit gerade einmal 25 Minuten dauert. Da gehe ich doch lieber zu Fuss, das dauert etwas länger, doch auch das schafft man locker in einer Stunde und dabei hat man sich bewegt und nicht nur die Zeit totgeschlagen.

Am Ende des gegenüberliegenden Ufers steht ein abgebranntes Bauernhaus, das das Verwaltungsgebäude des dazugehörigen Campingplatzes war.

Folgendes habe ich dazu gefunden:

In der Nacht auf Pfingstsonntag, 24. Mai 2026, hat es auf dem Campingplatz Bankenhof bei Hinterzarten / Titisee-Neustadt einen Grossbrand gegeben.

- Das Haupt- bzw. Verwaltungsgebäude mit Sanitäranlagen und einigen Ferienwohnungen ist dabei komplett ausgebrannt.

- Der Sachschaden wird auf mindestens eine Million Euro geschätzt.

- Der Platz war wohl fast voll belegt; alle Gäste wurden evakuiert, es gab keine Schwerverletzten. Eine Feuerwehrfrau wurde bei einem Sturz von der Leiter leicht verletzt.

- Der Campingplatz bleibt vorerst geschlossen, die Brandursache wird nach Angaben der Behörden noch untersucht bzw. ist öffentlich noch nicht eindeutig geklärt.

Zurück in Titisee überkam mich die Lust zu einem Eis. Die Eiskarte sah wirklich anmächelig aus und erinnerte mich an die leckeren Eisbecher, die wir in Buenos Aires gegessen hatten.

Da ich unterwegs noch etwas einkaufen wollte, musste ich den Bus in Bärental verlassen und eine Stunde später mit dem nächsten zurück zum Hotel fahren. Genau als ich aussteigen musste, fing es an zu gewittern, doch noch nicht stark und der Weg war nicht lang. ⛈️⚡️

Since I completely missed Lake Titisee on yesterday’s stage, today I imposed a penalty on myself to walk all around the lake. 🤣

No, that’s not quite true! I would have done it anyway! I’m no longer the hiker I used to be, but exercise does me good, even if I’m a bit slower. I increased my average speed again by also recording the bus ride back to the hotel.

Unfortunately, breakfast here only starts at 8 a.m., but during winter already at half past seven. I don’t quite understand this logic. In summer, you want to start early if it’s a nice hiking day, but in winter it’s still pitch dark. Since my bus departs at 08:25, there isn’t much time left.

However, I was able to start earlier, so it was enough, and I caught the bus without any problems. Just 20 minutes later, I got off again in Titisee in the most beautiful weather.

The biggest attraction in Titisee is surely the lake of the same name; at least I found nothing else on the internet. Boats were prepared on the lake shore. Apparently, a big crowd was expected. Currently, the streets were still quite empty.

For me, a boat ride on the lake wouldn’t be particularly appealing. The lake is so small that the whole round trip at very low speed takes only about 25 minutes. I’d rather walk; it takes a bit longer, but you can easily do it within an hour and get some exercise instead of just killing time.

At the end of the opposite shore stands a burnt-down farmhouse, which was the administration building of the related campsite.

Here is what I found about it:

On the night before Whit Sunday, 24 May 2026, there was a major fire at the Bankenhof campsite near Hinterzarten / Titisee-Neustadt.

- The main or administrative building with sanitary facilities and some holiday apartments was completely burnt down.

- The property damage is estimated at at least one million euros.

- The site was almost fully booked; all guests were evacuated, and there were no serious injuries. One female firefighter was slightly injured falling off a ladder.

- The campsite remains closed for the time being; the cause of the fire is still being investigated by authorities and has not yet been publicly clarified.

Back in Titisee, I felt like having an ice cream. The ice cream menu looked really tempting and reminded me of the delicious sundaes we had eaten in Buenos Aires.

Since I wanted to do some shopping along the way, I had to get off the bus at Bärental and an hour later take the next one back to the hotel. Just as I had to get off, a thunderstorm started, but it wasn’t strong yet and the way was not long. ⛈️⚡️

Como ayer en la etapa me perdí totalmente el Titisee, hoy me impuse la penitencia de rodear todo el lago. 🤣

No, eso no es del todo cierto. ¡De todos modos lo habría hecho! Ya no soy el caminante de antes, pero el ejercicio me viene bien, aunque sea un poco más lento. He aumentado mi velocidad media nuevamente, al registrar también el viaje en autobús de regreso al hotel.

Por desgracia, aquí el desayuno sólo empieza a las 8, pero en invierno ya a las 7:30. No entiendo muy bien esta lógica. En verano quieres salir temprano si es un buen día de caminata, y en invierno todavía está oscuro como boca de lobo. Como mi autobús sale a las 08:25, no queda mucho tiempo.

Pero pude empezar más temprano, así que fue suficiente y cogí el autobús sin problema. Y sólo 20 minutos después ya bajaba en Titisee con un tiempo precioso.

La mayor atracción en Titisee es seguro el lago del mismo nombre; al menos no encontré otra cosa en internet. En la orilla del lago prepararon los botes. Aparentemente esperaban una gran afluencia. Por ahora las calles estaban bastante vacías.

Para mí, un paseo en bote por el lago no sería muy atractivo. El lago es tan pequeño que toda la vuelta a muy baja velocidad dura apenas 25 minutos. Prefiero ir a pie, tarda un poco más, pero se puede hacer fácilmente en una hora y además haces ejercicio en lugar de matar el tiempo.

Al otro lado de la orilla opuesta está una granja quemada, que fue el edificio administrativo del camping relacionado.

En la noche antes del domingo de Pentecostés, 24 de mayo de 2026, hubo un gran incendio en el camping Bankenhof, cerca de Hinterzarten / Titisee-Neustadt.

- El edificio principal o administrativo con instalaciones sanitarias y algunos apartamentos para vacaciones fue completamente destruido por el fuego.

- Se estima que el daño material asciende al menos a un millón de euros.

- El lugar estaba casi completo; todos los huéspedes fueron evacuados y no hubo heridos graves. Una bombera resultó levemente herida al caer de una escalera.

- El camping permanecerá cerrado por el momento; la causa del incendio sigue siendo investigada por las autoridades y aún no se ha aclarado públicamente.

De vuelta en Titisee me entraron ganas de un helado. El menú de helados parecía realmente apetecible y me recordó los deliciosos copos de nieve que habíamos comido en Buenos Aires.

Como quería hacer unas compras en el camino, tuve que bajarme del autobús en Bärental y una hora después tomar el siguiente de vuelta al hotel. Justo cuando tenía que bajarme comenzó a caer una tormenta, aunque aún no muy fuerte, y el camino no era largo. ⛈️⚡️
