Ich war schon in vielen unterschiedlichen Unterkünften, aber noch nie in einer WG. Das angebotene Zimmer war aber in verschiedenen Beziehungen sehr gut. Die Bewertungen waren durchaus positiv, die Lage mitten in der Altstadt und nicht zuletzt der Preis, der für zwei Nächte weit unter dem Preis für eine Nacht bei anderen Angeboten lag. Zudem wurde der Gastgeber namens Claus über alles gelobt.

Also buchte ich dieses Zimmer und so wurde es zu meinem heutigen Ziel. Da ich erst um 15 Uhr einchecken konnte, hatte ich viel Zeit und konnte die Fahrt bei wunderschönem Wetter sehr ruhig angehen und oft Pause machen.

Nach dem Losfahren war ich schnell wieder auf dem Donauradweg. Weiter ging es in Richtung Westen. Ein grösserer Ort auf dem Weg heisst Straubing. Hier war ich schon bei meiner Baltictour, damals von Nord nach Süd, diesmal von Ost nach West. Es ist das erste Mal, dass eine meiner Touren eine andere kreuzt. Ein denkwürdiger Moment, der mich an diese Tour erinnerte, allerdings mit nicht nur guten Erfahrungen. Denn die letzten Kilometer waren durch eine Baustelle so versperrt, dass ich über die Bundesstrasse ausweichen musste. So war ich also gespannt, wie es jetzt hier weitergeht. Und leider musste ich feststellen, dass es noch unverändert ist. Wieder musste ich auf die verkehrsintensive Bundesstrasse ausweichen. Das war auch heute nicht die einzige Baustelle, jedoch bei weitem die unangenehmste.

Dann kamen schöne Abschnitte, die alles wieder gutmachten. Bei der Mittagspause kam ich mit einem einheimischen Radfahrer ins Gespräch und so erfuhr ich, dass diese Grossbaustelle noch mehrere Jahre bestehen wird.

Als ich in Regensburg ankam, war ich noch eine Stunde zu früh. Also genug Zeit, um noch eine Pause einzulegen. Vor dem Überqueren der Steinernen Brücke nahm ich einen Eiskaffee und gegen den Durst ein Wasser.

Trotzdem war ich etwas zu früh bei der angegebenen Adresse. Claus liess jedoch nicht lange auf sich warten und führte mich dann durch das Haus zu meinem Zimmer im dritten Stock. Natürlich wie gewohnt ohne Fahrstuhl.

Es stellte sich heraus, dass meine Erwartungen mehr als erfüllt wurden. So gut, dass ich später beschloss, eine weitere Nacht zu buchen.

I have stayed in many different types of accommodation, but never in a shared flat. However, the room offered was excellent in several respects. The reviews were very positive, the location was right in the middle of the old town, and last but not least, the price for two nights was well below the cost of a single night at other places. Additionally, the host named Claus received nothing but praise.

So I booked this room, and it became today's destination. Since I could only check in at 3:00 PM, I had plenty of time and was able to take the ride very slowly in beautiful weather, taking frequent breaks.

After setting off, I was quickly back on the Danube Cycle Path, heading west. A larger town along the way is Straubing. I had already been here during my Baltic tour—that time from north to south, this time from east to west. It is the first time one of my tours has crossed another. It was a memorable moment that reminded me of that tour, though not only with good memories. Back then, the final kilometers were so blocked by a construction site that I had to detour onto the main road. I was curious to see how things were now, but unfortunately, I found that nothing had changed. Once again, I had to divert onto the busy main road. That wasn't the only construction site today, but by far the most unpleasant one.

Then came some beautiful sections that made up for everything. During my lunch break, I struck up a conversation with a local cyclist and learned that this major construction site will remain for several more years.

When I arrived in Regensburg, I was an hour early. Enough time for another break. Before crossing the Stone Bridge, I had an iced coffee and a water for my thirst.

Even so, I arrived at the given address a bit early. Claus didn't keep me waiting long and led me through the house to my room on the third floor. Naturally, as usual, there was no elevator.

As it turned out, my expectations were more than met—so much so that I later decided to book another night.

Me he alojado en muchos lugares diferentes, pero nunca en un piso compartido. Sin embargo, la habitación ofrecida era excelente en varios aspectos. Las reseñas eran muy positivas, la ubicación en pleno casco antiguo y, por último pero no menos importante, el precio por dos noches era muy inferior al de una sola noche en otras ofertas. Además, el anfitrión llamado Claus recibía elogios por doquier.

Así que reservé esta habitación y se convirtió en mi destino de hoy. Como no podía hacer el registro de entrada hasta las 15:00, tenía mucho tiempo y pude tomarme el viaje con mucha calma bajo un tiempo espléndido, haciendo pausas frecuentes.

Tras la salida, volví rápidamente a la ruta ciclista del Danubio, continuando hacia el oeste. Un lugar importante en el camino es Straubing. Ya estuve aquí durante mi ruta por el Báltico; aquella vez de norte a sur, esta vez de este a oeste. Es la primera vez que una de mis rutas se cruza con otra. Fue un momento memorable que me recordó aquel viaje, aunque no solo con buenas experiencias. En aquel entonces, los últimos kilómetros estaban tan bloqueados por una obra que tuve que desviarme por la carretera nacional. Tenía curiosidad por ver cómo estaba la situación ahora y, lamentablemente, comprobé que nada ha cambiado. Una vez más, tuve que desviarme por la carretera nacional de tráfico intenso. No fue la única obra hoy, pero sí, con diferencia, la más desagradable.

Luego vinieron tramos preciosos que lo compensaron todo. Durante la pausa del almuerzo, entablé conversación con un ciclista local y así me enteré de que esta gran obra durará varios años más.

Cuando llegué a Ratisbona, todavía faltaba una hora. Así que tuve tiempo suficiente para hacer otro descanso. Antes de cruzar el Puente de Piedra, me tomé un café helado y un agua para la sed.

Aun así, llegué un poco antes de tiempo a la dirección indicada. Claus no se hizo esperar y me acompañó a través de la casa hasta mi habitación en el tercer piso. Por supuesto, como de costumbre, sin ascensor.

Resultó que mis expectativas se cumplieron con creces. Tanto es así que más tarde decidí reservar una noche más.
