19.12.19 - total car breakdown

Woke up early with a smell of burnt wood in my nose.

Luckily no fires in sight so I made my way down the highway towards Sydney. It was a very hot day with more than 40 degrees. 

The engine started to overheat again so I stopped at a gas station and checked for the cooling liquid. Still enough liquid inside so I called the rental company what to do. 

After a few hours of driving for 15 minutes and stopping the car to let it cool down I arrived at a mechanic in newcastle. 

The radiator was leaking. They won’t be able to fix the problem until the next day (which was the day I had to drop off the van in Sydney) so the rental company organized a towing service. 

In the end I got towed from Newcastle to Sydney. Not the way I expected to get to Sydney 😄

But yeah ... of course it was annoying but no one was hurt and I got some money back for the inconvenience. 

Checked into Sydney Central YHA hostel late in the evening.
