After Tara went back to work and Mathias left for Sydney I was on my own again.
Our campervan group split up earlier already since it didn’t work out as expected. The drop off was due for the 20th dec so I had four days to get the van to Sydney.

Camping in Australia is more difficult than you might think. You’re not allowed to park your van anywhere you like. Unpowered Campsites on the East coast are between 30-50$ per night. There are some free spots as well but less than on the west coast.
For the first night I decided to go to a place called Bellingen Showgrounds. A chilled place three and a half hours south of Byron. They have shows on the weekends and let campers stay for a few dollars on weekdays.
Good talk to some other Aussie campers. People over here a so friendly and happy to talk. It always begins with a smile and a simple “Hi”
Saw a lot of bats that evening
Cheers
