The natural state - Arkansas

Veröffentlicht: 25.07.2022

The name says it all - Arkansas or Arkanson or Arkansa, everybody has a different way of pronouncing this äh... boring, pretty or unique state.

I don't really know what to say about it. Basically Memphis is half a Tennessee city and half an Arkansas city. You just drive on a bridge over the Mississippi River and then you end up in west Memphis which has literally not more to offer than a casino. So for all the gambling friends here, there you go!

But that was not where I went when I drove to Arkansas, we went to Heber Springs, through basically nothing, just farms, nature and old abandoned houses and stores. We just stopped once at a gas station which was in the middle of nowhere xD.

I am thinking about visiting Little Rock one day, but I am actually not really sure if it is a 3 hour drive worth.

So, after driving in a car with 6 people in a 5 persons car, - that's american -, we finally arrived at a beautiful and absolutely stunning lake in Heber Springs. This lake changed my mind about this state completely, its the natural state, there is not much else, but the nature is really impressive.

We rented a boat at @damsitemarina and it was a ton of fun. We had a tube in the back of the boat and of course a huge freezer full of beer with us. It was the perfect day, it was super hot, the water was clear and driving the boat was really easy.

After the boat tour we went to a beach area close by @sandybeach where we tried to get tanned and enjoyed the last hours of sunshine.

The rest of the day we spent eating really good Mexican food at @lasplayitas.

At all I can say it was one of the best days, even tho it was with strangers and a last minute decision. Arkansas will definitely not be my favourite state but for the nature I would come back!
