Planning trips

I just wanted to write a short note. Traveling is fun and all the experiences we gather are definitely worth it and will help us in our future. But nobody really talks about all the effort we put in to visit another city or place.

Its so much planning in advance, you need to check for good flights, cheap accommodations, exciting activities to do, ...& much more. 

Especially roadtrips take a lot of time, make sure you plan ahead the route you want to drive to do not over calculate the time you have. For example right now I am extremely struggling to plan my "New England" Trip because I want to see all states and cities there, but I just have 1 week, so its literally not possible. Because you still need to be able to enjoy the places on the trip and not only drive from one to the other.

So better start early to get cheap offers, even booking two months before the trip doesn't really give you good offers anymore. This is really a problem as an au pair, because you are dependent on your host families schedules. 

I love to read so many different blogs in advance because it just tells you exactly how everything is and gives you more an idea of the reality. Thats why I am doing mine. I want to try to not let traveling and the world appear 100% perfect, there are a lot of beautiful places, but a lot of attractions are also just really touristy and over-priced. 

Just keep in mind to spend some time organising to not get disappointed but also be always ready for a spontaneously adventure.
