EVERY HOUSE A PIECE OF ART IN IMTI VILLAGE MAKEOVER

Work is underway to decorate the archaeological village in Al Dakhiliah governorate to be an attractive spot for visitors.
Imti project is a personal initiative of Omani Artist Maryam Al Zadjali, the chairman of the Omani Society for Fine Arts in cooperation with a group of private companies and under the supervision of the Ministry of Heritage and Culture.
The project is the first of its kind in the arena of art and cultural in the Sultanate.

Al Zadjali said: “I am proud as an Omani artist to embrace the idea of creating an art project in Imti Village. It is a historic Omani site with all its historical, cultural, archaeological, natural and demographic elements and the challenge is to present it in a modern style that matches what is presented on the plastic scene globally.”

“The project seeks to give Omani identity a new artistic impression that derives its beauty and strength from the elements of the Omani environment, to highlight one of the rare places unknown outside Oman and to present it to the world from a new perspective that celebrates history with art,” Maryam added.

Under the slogan “To Immortalise the Archaeological Moment in Art” the project will include the installation of wall paintings, floor tiles and maintenance of the houses and walls of the village.
