Let the adventure begin!

It's Saturday and the first day we spend time with our host family.

In my case it was competition day for the band from St. Ansgar.

After we stood up, 11 and ate breakfast (eggs and sausages) we met the band at the high school. The practice was very good. We went by bus and the trip was very long. So after 2 1/2 hours in the bus we arrived to Waukee. And watched the competition and it was very great.

Right now we arrived at a hotel and leave here tomorrow. So now it's time for dinner and of course pool time.

So we hope the other students had a very nice day, too and are happy with their families like us.

Heute ist Samstag und der erste Tag, um etwas Zeit mit unseren Gastfamilien zu verbringen.

Für mich und Lauren ging es heute zu einer "Bandcompetition" mit der Band von St. Ansgar. Nach 10 Stunden sehr erholsamen Schlaf gab es Frühstück ( Rührei und Würstchen) und danach ging es schon in die Highschool für die letzte Probe vor dem großem Auftritt. Gemeinsam mit der Band fuhren wir fast 3 Stunden nach Waukee. Die Auftritte der verschiedenen Gruppen im Footballstadium waren sehr aufregend. Nach diesem sehr erlebnisreichen Tag heißt es jetzt Abendbrot essen und in einem Hotel zu entspannen, bevor es morgen wieder nach St. Ansgar geht.

Lauren und ich hoffen, alle anderen Schüler hatten heute einen schönen Tag und sind glücklich in ihrer Gastfamilie.
