I was so happy that I was off on Thursday and Friday, because I really needed that time to get back to normal and relax a little bit. I also skyped with my best friend and my parents. On Saturday we went to a nice burger place. On Sunday I went to the Shenandoah National Park with 4 other AuPairs. It was ok but we didn't hike and just sat in the car for a long time. But it was nice.
Ich war so glücklich, dass ich Donnerstag und Freitag nicht arbeiten musste, weil ich die Zeit wirklich gebraucht habe, um wieder runter zu kommen und ein bisschen zu entspannen. Ich hab auch mit meinem besten Freund und meinen Eltern geskyped. Samstag Abend waren wir Burger essen. Sonntag bin ich mit 4 anderen AuPairs zum Shenandoah National Park gefahren. Es war ok, aber wir sind leider nicht gewandert und haben sehr viel im Auto gesessen. Trotzdem war es nett.
The next week was a "normal" one. I watched Gerry 3 days and saw some cool Halloween decoration in the neighborhood. Die nächste Woche war wieder eine "normale". Ich habe 3 Tage auf Gerry aufgepasst und ein paar coole Halloween Dekorationen in der Nachbarschaft gesehen. On Friday Kevin, Gerry and I drove to Durham in North Carolina, because they've been invited to a baby shower that Saturday. The baby shower was really nice. It's a typical american thing. It's usually held at home but they've done it in a German-American Bar. They had German beer (Paulaner, Erdinger). And they play a couple crazy baby games. The pregnant wife's husband and a couple friends (male) had to trink beer out of baby bottles, you weren't allowed to say the word "baby", etc.Plus I had a good Burger on Saturday evening. We passed a couple cool overpasses and Richmond.Freitag sind Kevin, Gerry und ich nach Durham in North Carolina gefahren, weil sie Samstag zu einer Babyparty eingeladen waren. Die Babyparty war wirklich nett und das ist typisch amerikanisch. Normalerweise findet das zuhause statt, aber diese war in einer Deutsch-Amerikanischen Bar. Die hatten sogar deutsches Bier dort (Paulaner und Erdinger). Und sie haben ein paar verrückte Baby Spiele gespielt. Der werdenda Vater musste mit ein paar Freunden Bier aus Babyflaschen trinken, man durfte das Wort "Baby" nicht sagen, usw.Außerdem hatte ich Samstagabend einen guten Burger. Auf der Autofahrt, sind wir an ein paar coolen "overpasses" und Richmond vorbei gekommen.
