First Birthday in the US

I was sort of afraid what would happen to me at my birthday. I thought I will start to cry because I miss my friends and family at home. But it didn't happen. It was one of the best birthdays I ever had, becuase it was so diffrent and I'll just say "birthday at beach". I got chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast. My host father did those and they were amazing. I spend the rest of the morning at the pool and talked to my best friend and my family on skype after that. I spend the afternoon untill 6:30 at the beach. After that my host mom was preparing the burgers which I have wished for. 

Ich hatte ein bisschen Angst, was mit mir an meinem Geburtstag passieren würde. Ich dachte ich würde anfangen zu weinen, weil ich meine Familie und meine Freunde zuhause vermisse.  Aber das ist nicht passiert, es war einer der besten Geburtstage die ich je hatte, da es so anders war als sonst, ich meine "Geburtstag am Strand". Ich hatte Pfannkuchen mit Schokostückchen zum Frühstück, die mein Gastvater gemacht hatte und sie waren wahnsinnig gut. Ich hab den Rest des Vormittags am Pool verbracht und danach mit meinen Eltern und meinem besten Freund geskyped. Danach war meine Gastmutter schon dabei die Burger, die ich mir gewünscht hatte, zu machen.

After all of the kids went to bed, we spend the rest of the evening playing "the settlers of catan" and eating my birthday cake. 

Nachdem alle Kinder im Bett waren haben wir den Rest des Abends "Die Siedler von Catan" gespielt und meinen Geburtstagskuchen gegessen.
