Langsam denkt man: soll ich das noch waschen – oder reichts noch bis nach Hause… ☹

Nach der Empfehlung von Alex sind wir in Süden von Maui gefahren – genauer nach Oneola oder auch Big Beach im Makena State Park. Er erstreckt sich über 800m, ist 30m breit und wird von zwei grossen Lavawällen eingegrenzt. Von Leuten hat man da seine Ruhe, aber die Warnungen und der Wind machte es dennoch ungemütlich. Eigentlich ein Traum von einem Strand, das Wasser kristalklar unglaubliche Farben aber die Wellen und noch schlimmer die Strömungen waren schon krass. Mit ein bisschen vorsicht konnten wir den Tag dennoch geniessen. Den Sonnenuntergang Coctail gabs dann beim Waldorf Astoria am Lagerfeuer mit Marschmellows, Schokolade und Butterkekse. Mehr Amerika geht nicht 😊 Auf dem Heimweg sind wir in Kihei vorbeigekommen und haben an einer hawaianischen Version vom Zürcher «Gerolds Garten» angehalten. So ein total cooler Foodtruck Garten mit allem was das Herz & Magen begehrt. Eigentlich ein prima Tag, wäre da nicht die Busse gewesen, die ich bekommen habe weil ich in die falsche Richtung parkiert habe!?! Also wenn man seitlich parkiert muss das Auto immer in die Fahrtrichtung schauen. Wusst ich nicht – morgen wird mal das Polizeibüro aufgesucht.. Ohne Polizei komme ich anscheinend die aus auf meinen US Reisen…

Slowly I am thinking: should I wash this – or can it last until my return… ☹

Based on a recommendation of Alex we drove to the south of Maui today – more precise to Oneola aka Big Beach in the Makena State Park. It is 800m long and 30m wide embedded in two big Lava rocks. It is so big that too many people never will be an issue, but the warnings and the wind made it uncomfortable. It would be a dream of a beach, the water crystal-clear, incredible colors but the waves and the current were impressive. With caution we still had a lovely day. For the sundowner we had a cocktail at the Waldorf Astoria next to a bonfire with smurfs! That’s America 😊 On the way home we passed by Kihei and stopped at a Hawaiian Version of the Zurich “Gerolds Garden”. A really cool food truck park in the middle of a beautiful garden providing everything what the heart and stomach desires. Theoretically a perfect day, if I would not have gotten a fine because I parked in the wrong direction. Namely if you park sideways you must park the car in the driving direction. I had no idea… so tomorrow off to the police office. It appears that I cant have a US trip without getting in touch with the police..
