6. Tag - Day 6

Grosser Aufbruch von LA. Es hat uns super gefallen in LA aber die Zeit ist gekommen weiterzureisen. Eine wunderschöne 2 stündige Autofahrt richtung Norden brachte uns nach Santa Barbara. Der iPhone Doktor konnte Zoë gleich helfen und mit 170$ weniger im Sack und einer glücklichen Zoë gings auf Erkundungstour. Der italiener lockte zum Mittagessen und die liebliche Innenstadt lud zum verweilen ein. Beim Chinesli wurden alle unsere Nägel aufpoliert :-)  Danach gings zum Motel 6 das gleich beim Strand lag und mit einem kurzen schläfchen winkte.  Im Reiseführer wurde uns eine Bar zur Cocktailstunde empfohlen die wir neugierig aufsuchten und leider aber rechtsumkehrt wieder rausflogen. Zoë muss 21 sein - auch wenn sie keinen Alkohol trinken würde, darf sie da nicht mal rein... Schade - aber wieder was gelernt. Der nächste Tip war das Lucky penny Restaurant. Ein pennybeklebtes Haus voll Glück.  Das Essen war hervorragend und der letzte Tip Rori's artisanal creamery rundete den leckeren Tag mit einem Erdbeer Cheesecake und Affogato Eiscreme ab..... ein wahrhaft lukullischer Tag!

The day of departure. We loved LA but it was time to leave. A 2 hour drive towards north took us to Santa Barbara. The iPhone doctor could help Zoë and with 170$ less in my pocket but with a happy Zoë we started to explore the city. The italian tempted us for lunch and the old town is beautifully groomed. Some friendly chinese ladies polished all our nails and thereafter we proceeded to the Motel 6 which was at the Beach - where we couldn't resist a small nap :-)
The travel guide advised to have cocktails at the "pickle room" which we gladly followed, only to be thrown out straight away again.. Zoë has to be 21, even if she would not drink any alcohol. What a shame, but lesson learned. The next recommendation was the "Lucky Penny" a Restaurant with penny's all over the walls - a lucky house. The dinner was extraordinary and we rounded up the lovely evening with the last suggestion to have ice cream at the Rori's artisanal creamery Strawberry Cheesecake and Affogato - what a lucullan day!
