CROATIA - We spent one week at Villas Misto for a yoga and wellness retreat and honestly could not have picked a better place for it.
The villa is located on a quiet hillside above Primošten with a completely open view over the Adriatic. Every morning started with yoga outside while the sun came up over the water and every evening somehow ended around the fire pit with wine and marshmallows.
What makes Villas Misto special is that it actually works for groups and families. Not just visually, but practically. Everyone had their own space which is rare for big group trips.
The villa has five bedrooms and every room comes with its own large bathroom with shower, toilet and bidet. No fighting over bathrooms, no waiting, no chaos. There are also two ovens, two refrigerators, a huge kitchen area and enough space for everybody to cook together without constantly standing on top of each other.
Outside there is a heated pool overlooking the sea, several lounge areas, a gas grill, an Ofyr hot stone grill and a fire pit where we spent almost every evening after dinner. There is also a game room with billiard, table football and PlayStation 5 which honestly makes it perfect not only for retreats but also bachelor or bachelorette trips, birthday weekends or friend group holidays.
You could easily stay at the villa for days without getting bored.
The closest beaches and the old town of Primošten are only around 10 minutes away by car.
One thing I really liked about Primošten is that it still feels relaxed compared to places like Hvar or Split. It is beautiful without trying too hard. Small stone streets, clear water, boats everywhere and restaurants where people actually sit for hours.
Restaurants we genuinely loved:
✧ Konoba Dvor for dinner with a sea view. Definitely book ahead around sunset.
✧ Konoba Toni for fresh seafood and local Croatian dishes.
✧ Restaurant Kamenar in the old town for long dinners and wine.
✧ Konoba Capocesto for a more local atmosphere and amazing fish.
Things actually worth doing nearby:
✧ Rent a small boat for the day instead of booking crowded tours. We saw tiny beaches and swimming spots that you literally cannot reach by car. We looked at options from Adriatic Sense and Offshore Boote.
✧ Do a day trip to Krka Waterfalls tours. The waterfalls are around one hour away and honestly one of the prettiest places we saw during the trip.
✧ Walk through Primošten old town late in the evening once everybody leaves the restaurants. That was probably one of my favourite moments of the whole week.
✧ Spend one full evening at the villa without plans. Grill outside, stay in the pool until late and watch the lights along the coast.
Some places are nice for photos.
Villas Misto actually felt good to stay in.
