„Ranch-Merch“

Hier ein kurzes Update von der letzten Woche. ◀️

Wir hatten am Dienstag frei, da wir am Montag hier Memorial Day hatten, wie ich ja schon im letzten Post berichtet hatte.

Am Mittwoch wurden dann die Bilder von diesem Tag bearbeitet und auf der Medienseite der Ranch hochgeladen.

Am Abend hatten wir eines unserer letzten Beratungstreffen. Wir durften zum ersten Mal die Welpen auf den Arm nehmen und mit ihnen kuscheln! Die sind einfach zu süß. 😍 Nächstes Jahr werden wir sehr wahrscheinlich die Beratungsfamilie wechseln.

Im Medienbereich haben wir auch was ganz cooles gemacht diese Woche. Wir haben unseren ersten Online-Shop für die Ranch aufgemacht, wo man ab sofort Pullover, T-Shirts, Taschen, Tassen und weiteres kaufen kann und ich durfte dafür sogar modeln! 😃 Bei den Bildern seht ihr ein paar unserer neuesten Modelle! Dazu muss ich jetzt auch noch eine Story erzählen. Einen Tag nachdem wir den Shop veröffentlicht haben, ist ein älteres Ehepaar auf die Ranch gefahren, da diese einen Pullover kaufen wollten. Zufällig saß ich gerade draußen auf der Veranda, als die Frau fragte, ob das möglich wäre. Sie sagte:“ Oh, du musst das Mädchen sein, welches dafür gemodelt hat.“ Dann zeigte sie mir die offene Shop-Seite, wo ich einen der Pullover an hatte und sagte: „Den möchte ich gerne.“ Ich war erstmal voll überfordert, weil es ja eigentlich nur ein Onlineshop ist. Der Buckboard Shop auf der Ranch ist normalerweise nur für Camps offen. Wir konnten der Frau aber helfen und sie bekam das, was sie wollte. 🤗

Auf der Veranda, wo ich gesessen habe, wurden von der Ranch jetzt Blumenkübel aufgehängt. In einem haben wir einfach ein kleines Vogelnest mit winzigen Eiern drin gefunden. Schon interessant, wo Vögel überall nisten. 😅 Das ist ja nicht gerade ein ruhiger Ort vor dem Hauptgebäude der Ranch, wo die ganzen Büros sind und jeder alle paar Minuten langläuft. 😉

Am Freitag hatte die Tochter meiner Beratungsfamilie Abschlussfeier. Sie hat die Schule jetzt beendet. 🎉 Viele der Mitarbeiter-Kinder werden zuhause unterrichtet. Homeschooling ist in den USA ja mehr verbreitet als bei anderen. Was ist eure Meinung zu Homeschooling? Ihr könnt mir ja mal schreiben, würde mich interessieren. Ich glaube mir würde der soziale Aspekt „Freundschaften knüpfen“ unheimlich fehlen. Auf der Feier selber gab es gutes Essen und es wurde viel Volleyball gespielt. 🏐 Ein Lagerfeuer gab es auch noch später. Üblich ist auch, dass jeder eine Gratulationskarte schreibt und diese dann in die große Kartenbox wirft.

...Die Zeit rennt und das Schuljahr ist bald schon vorbei... 🥺

Da viele gefragt hatten, wie das mit meiner Visa Sache aussieht zwischen den beiden Jahren: Ja, es ist kompliziert und ja, ich muss die USA verlassen nach dem ersten Jahr. Mein Visum gilt zwar bis 2025, aber mein Schulformular läuft nach einem Jahr aus und die Regel ist, dass ich dann wieder einreisen muss mit meinem neuen Schulformular, damit ich wieder an der Grenze registriert werden kann. 🤷🏼‍♀️ 

Ein anderer Weg wäre, dass ich mich für eine Verlängerung bewerbe, was zum einen sehr teuer ist und zum anderen nur eine 50/50 Chance besteht, ob die mich noch für ein Jahr annehmen oder nicht. Nehmen müssten sie mich nicht. Um dieses Risiko zu umgehen, werde ich womöglich ausreisen müssen für eine kurze Zeit und dann wäre ich auf der sicheren Seite. 😅

Was ich dann aber machen werde ist im Moment noch in Planung. Ihr erfahrt es dann aber auch irgendwann. Bleibt halt immer spannend hier!

Hey People! 😃

Here's a quick update from last week. ◀️

We had Tuesday off because we had Memorial Day here on Monday, as I reported in the last post.

Then on Wednesday we edited the pictures from that day and uploaded them to the ranch media site.

In the evening we had one of our last advisor meetings. We got to hold the puppies for the first time and snuggle with them! They are just too cute. 😍 Next year we will most likely change consulting families.

In media, we also did something really cool this week. We launched our first online store for the Ranch where you can now buy sweaters, t-shirts, bags, mugs and more and I even got to model for it! 😃 In the pictures you can see a few of our latest models! I have a story to tell about this now. One day after we published the store, an older couple drove to the ranch, because they wanted to buy a sweater. Coincidentally, I was sitting outside on the porch when the woman asked if it was possible. She said, "Oh, you must be the girl who modeled for this." Then she showed me the open store page where I had one of the sweaters on and said, "I'd like that one." I was completely overwhelmed at first because it's really just an online store. The buckboard store at the ranch is usually only open for camps. But we were able to help the woman and she got what she wanted. 🤗

On the porch where I was sitting, the ranch has now put up flower tubs. In one we just found a little bird nest with tiny eggs in it. It's interesting where birds nest everywhere. 😅 It's not exactly a quiet place in front of the main ranch building, where all the offices are and everyone walks along every few minutes. 😉

On Friday, my advisor family's daughter had graduation. She has now graduated from high school. 🎉 Many of the staff kids are homeschooled. Homeschooling is more common in the US than others, after all. What is your opinion about homeschooling? You guys can write me sometime, I would be interested. I think I would miss the social aspect of making friends. At the party itself there was good food and a lot of volleyball was played. 🏐 There was also a bonfire later on. It is also customary for everyone to write a congratulations card and then throw it into the big card box.

...Time is running out and the school year will soon be over.... 🥺

Since many had asked how this is with my Visa thing between the two years: Yes, it is complicated and yes, I have to leave the US after the first year. My visa is valid until 2025 but my school form expires after one year and the rule is that I then have to re-enter with my new school form so I can be registered at the border again. 🤷🏼‍♀️ 

Another way would be for me to apply for an extension, which is very expensive for one thing and there is only a 50/50 chance if they accept me for another year or not. They wouldn't have to take me. To avoid this risk I will possibly have to leave for a short time and then I would be on the safe side. 😅

But what I will do then is still in planning at the moment. You will find out then but also sometime. Remains just always exciting here!

So much for the topic "short update". 😂
