Grand Canyon

Hi! 

Ich sagte ja, dass meine Reise noch nicht zu Ende war. 😃

Ich glaube anhand des Titels und an meinen Bildern könnt ihr erkennen was wir noch gemacht haben. 😂 

Wir sind zum Grand Canyon in Arizona gefahren! Es war einfach mega. Wenn man vor den roten Bergen steht, sieht alles so unrealistisch aus. 😅 Zwischen den Bergen konnte man den Colorado River sehen. 😍 

Für mich hat es sich jedenfalls gelohnt. Auch, wenn die Reise dadurch verlängert wurde um ein paar Stunden. Wir sind ungefähr um 12 Uhr mittags angekommen und hatten dann vier Stunden, um im Nationalpark rumzulaufen. 

An manchen Stellen standen einfach Elche rum. Sie sahen so zutraulich aus. Als ich versuchen wollte einen Elch zu streicheln, konnte ich die Nase  berühren. Beim zweiten Versuch allerdings wollte der Elch nicht mehr und machte das auch durch sein Verhalten deutlich. Da bin ich dann mal lieber zur Seite gesprungen. So ganz zahm sind sie dann doch nicht. 😅 Sind halt trotzdem noch Wildtiere.  

Auf unserem Weg durch die Berge haben wir an einer Aussichtsplattform auch ein Langhorn Schaf in den Bergen rumlaufen sehen. Es hat sich dann auf einen Felsen gelegt um sich zu sonnen. 🥰 Mit dem bloßen Auge hätte ich das nicht sehen können, da es zu weit weg war. Zum Glück war da ein Mann mit einem Fernglas, der uns durchgucken ließ. So konnten wir das Tier von ganz nah sehen (s. Bilder).

Um vier Uhr Nachmittags sind wir ungefähr wieder los gefahren Richtung nach Hause. Die kommende Nacht haben wir in Springfield in Missouri verbracht. 

Natürlich sind wir auch auf der Route 66 gefahren, die führt ja durch Springfield. Auf einem Rastplatz dorthin gab es in einem Gebäude lauter Route 66 Schildern. Da mussten wir erstmal Bilder machen. 😂 Zwischendrin gab es auch mal Stau auf der Route 66. Das hat uns natürlich Zeit gekostet.

Den Rest der Strecke sind wir komplett durchgefahren. Sonntag auf Montag Nacht kamen wir dann auf der Ranch in Pennsylvania an. Danach bin ich erstmal ins Bett gefallen um 1 Uhr Nachts. 🥱

Letzten Montag hatten wir noch frei und konnten uns noch erholen. Heute ging es wieder los. 😁

Nächste Woche ist wieder Bewertungstag meiner Projekte. Ich muss dafür noch einiges machen! Durch die Reise habe ich ein wenig an Zeit verloren. 😬

Ich werde jetzt auch wieder regelmäßig am Wochenende posten. Das war ja jetzt ein bisschen durcheinander gekommen. 😅

Hi! 

I told you that my journey was not over yet. 😃 

I think from the title and my pictures you can see what else we did. 😂 

We went to the Grand Canyon in Arizona! It was just awesome. When you stand in front of the red mountains, everything looks so unrealistic. 😅 Between the mountains you could see the Colorado River. 😍 

Anyway, it was worth it for me. Even if it extended the trip by a few hours. We arrived at about 12 noon and then had four hours to walk around the national park.

In some places there were just elks standing around. They looked so trusting. When I tried to pet an elk, I was able to touch its nose. But at the second try the elk didn't want to be petted anymore and made that clear by his behavior. There I jumped then times rather to the side. So quite tame they are then but not. 😅 Are just still wild animals. 

On our way through the mountains, we also saw a longhorn sheep running around in the mountains at a viewing platform. It then laid down on a rock to sun itself. 🥰 I couldn't have seen it with the naked eye because it was too far away. Luckily there was a man with binoculars who let us look through. So we could see the animal from very close (see pictures). 

At about four o'clock in the afternoon we left again towards home. The next night we spent in Springfield, Missouri. 

Of course we also drove on Route 66, which goes through Springfield. On a rest area there were Route 66 signs in a building. There we had to take pictures first. In between, there was also a traffic jam on Route 66, which of course cost us time. 

The rest of the route we drove completely through. Sunday to Monday night we arrived at the ranch in Pennsylvania. After that I fell into bed at 1 o'clock in the morning. 🥱 

Last Monday we still had free and could still recover. Today we started again. 😁 

Next week is grading day for my projects again. I still have a lot to do for that! I lost a little bit of time due to the trip. 😬

I will now also post regularly again on the weekend. Yes, that was now a bit messed up. 😅
