More sightseeing

The day started pretty good, my intentions were to do a free walking tour but missed it by circumstances and in the end I went first of all to the library which is just as nice on the inside as on the outside. They offer free exhibitions and even free tours through the building which is very nice. The cultural aspect here is very large, I like it very much so far. You can spend hours just spending in museums and diving into history and stories of people over the centuries. This city has so much to offer! After this I continued to the Old Melbourne Gaol (Prison) where a lot of people, men and women stayed for different crimes and especially the famous Ned Kelly, a bushranger who was celebrated as a hero for some people here which wasn't really the case. Nevertheless I was just in time to do the City Watch House, an experience to know what it feels like to be arrested. Everyone got names and the charge they were arrested for. I was Edith Boston and my charge was stalking, really funny. We even had to say whenever we answered "yes Sergeant or no Sergeant" to play the game. At the end you could do your own mugshot with a number. It was an interesting experience but nothing I want to have in real life. The prison is not operating anymore but you can visit it and go into the cells and discover men and women, their names and the crime they committed and many more information.

After this real life experience I walked along La Trobe Street where I ended up walking into Carlton Gardens where you find the Royal Exhibition Building and not far the Melbourne Museum. They are definitely on my list for the following days. After the walk through I went down on Spring Street but changed directions to visit St. Patrick's Cathedral. Back on the initial road you have the Old Treasury Building Museum, the Parliament House, the Treasure Gardens with its beautiful trees and such a green scenery. Even the Windsor Hotel and the Princess Theater you'll get to see there.

My day ended by seeing a friend of mine and having a drink in a real authentic bar in Carlton where I really want to return.
