The drive from Byron Bay down to Sydney

Veröffentlicht: 03.08.2016

The third week of July I was working at a festival in Byron Bay for a whole week and as I wanted to see a little bit more of Australia I have planned to travel to Melbourne right after the festival on my own. I contacted someone who was offering a ride-share from Byron to Sydney and so I thought that is cool and more fun to travel in a car with people instead of taking the bus.

He picked me up and as we were travelling along the coast I got the chance to see the countryside. The weather was great and we had really interesting conversations. I even got to see the Big Banana, a tourist attraction and amusement park in the city of Coffs Harbour, New South Wales. The grounds of the park are set amongst a banana plantation, featuring a large walk-through banana.

One of the final stops where we had dinner was in Port Macquarie, a town in the local government area of Port Macquarie-Hastings. It is located on the Mid North Coast of New South Wales, about 390 km north of Sydney, and 570 km south of Brisbane. The town is located on the coast, at the mouth of the Hastings River, and at the eastern end of the Oxley Highway.

We eventually arrived in Sydney after a long drive.
