And I'm leaving the second country behind. Today I'm going to Colonia del Sacramento in Uruguay by ferry, it takes just 90 minutes.
The time with Javier, Cintia, Santiago and Mauricio has been a blast!
This is us in their treehouse. I stayed four instead of two nights at their place because I felt so much at home. I made in the evening Käsespätzle (for all non-germans: It's a traditional pasta with cheese). As I cooked, Javier asked where the meat would be. He was quite surprised when I told him that there would be none.
He liked it in the end a lot, even without meat!This was our lunch the next day, fried meat (Schnitzel) with rice and salad.
On Saturday we went to see three different waterfalls with Javier's 4x4 truck. The 4x4 was definitely necessary.
This was the first waterfall.
The state Misiones is full with these "small" beauties.Javier & meThe next stop, a bigger waterfall.The kids are super playful, they totally loved the expedition!This was at the same place.And I think this is the third waterfall. I honestly lost track a bit.Here comes number 4? I guess we have been to more then 3. You could walk behind the waterfall without getting wet! (If you don't slip 🤣)Beautiful views from above.This landscape was shaped by volcanic activities. Here you can see the individual layers of the lava.This one had a natural swimming pool right at the edge 🤩And uhm.. yes we are walking to the next waterfall. I definitely lost track 😅The hike down was suuuper adventurous and pretty cool!We got to see the highest fall of the day!100% jungle feelings.After this trip I can only recommend going to all of these with a 4x4. There is no other way but it's so worth it!Super untouched nature, just a short ride out of the city.The city has a annual dance event and the best tradicional young dancers are showing off what they got!I was so lucky to be at the right time at the right place and get invites to see it!Later I'll upload a video.Javier has a company that repairs machines for construction sites so he is naturally into cars. We went the next day to an oldtimer exhibition.I'm not a car person but these are straight up marvelous.And cute! Never seen such a cute truck.This one could be from some old James Bond movie.Cool cars.. afterwards we went to the river that is the border between Argentina and Paraguay.That on the other side there is Paraguay.And to finish the day we went to another waterfall. This one has a special history due to its big cave. The inkas used to live there, nowadays it's like a natural park where Argentinians go for a swim, drink mate and just chill. People here are super chill.The waterfall.And the cave. Pretty big, I can definitely see a tribe living here.Water falling from above.This one is still living here.And frogs, big ones.This one is ready to jump, peaking out of its hole.The next morning I packed my things and left. I had to leave the city with a taxi. This is the road.
