Flores / Tikal

Flores was my base to visit Tikal. Set on Lago Petén Itza, it is a Peninsula with colonial buildings. My hostel was on the other side of the lake and I had to take taxi boats which I also enjoyed very much. Tikal is Guatemala's most famous sight: ancient Mayan ruins of a city inhabited from approx. 900 BC until 900 AD. Very impressive and it was fun walking around and climbing the temples
