Best. Beach. Ever.

First of all: This post will be mostly in english.

The time of writing i spoke very much English this day.

But first things first:

Trip with Armas

The Armas ferry leaves the port of Los Cristianos at 8:45 AM sharp - so i got up early this morning.

The ocean crossing goes well, not many passengers, time for some photos.

The first time i saw La Gomera i was like - wow. Nothing more. No thoughts. Just a feelgood-wow.

Now, after a short stay at the Port of San Sebastian, we are approaching the Valle Grand Rey. Suddenly the clouds are being ripped apart, resulting in a sunny glance all around the valley.

Now - more experienced in managing great heights by car, the 100 km took about 3 hours, including photo-stops.

One of the most impressive things i saw was a large cross, decorated with lots of flowers. Some people at the Restaurant Esperanto (last trip station) told me this is about mothers day, happening on the first sunday of may.

Die weitere Landschaftsform auf La Gomera ist mir aus Teneriffa bereits bekannt - ebenso eine Vulkaninsel. Doch gibt es entscheidende Unterschiede: Der "Hauptkrater" auf La Gomera ist nicht so hoch wie auf Tenerriffa. Er sitzt großflächig in einer Höhe in der sich oft Wolken bilden. Der Nationalpark ist daher ein großflächiger Urwald den es  noch zu durchwandern gilt.

Arriving at my final destination, the "Esperanto" in Valle Grand Rey, directly at the beach, i sat down just to find out: Everyone around me is talking in german - including the waitress!

I ordered an espresso to get me up and running again after a very busy day.

La Gomera ist anders als Teneriffa. Habe ich die letzten 10 Tage mit niemandem (ausser der Kassiererin im Supermarkt und der Bedienung im Restaurant) - heute gefühlt mit jedem. Es folgt eine Zusammenfassung, für mich, um mich später zu erinnern:

Die Bedienung im Esperanto, immer nett, hat mir verboten zu arbeiten. Vor zwei Nächten mussten Sie die Markise ausfahren. Es hat auf das Bett genieselt. Das Bett steht auf der Dachterasse. / Das Ehepaar, kurz nach mir angekommen, mit zwei Hunden aus dem Tierheim, Firma in Deutschland wird von hier aus gemanaged. / Meine Airbnb-Host, Malena, eine jung gebliebene Dame aus dem Norden Portugals. / Kurz begrüßt Sie einen jungen blonden Mann aus der Küche.

Ich zahle meinen Espresso, mein alkoholfreies Limonenbier, meinen Flammkuchen und meinen Barraquito.

Als ich noch auf Malena warte, wie sie noch Putzwasser entsorgt und Blumen gießt, mache ich mich strandfertig. Immerhin sind wir in zweiter Häuserreihe vom Strand - einen echten Steinwurf entfernt.

At the beach we directly targeted a shadowy place under a tree. Malena greeting several people around us. Again, for me to remember, for you to ask about:

A man and a girl with several kids. No idea which, just some within the bunch of kids playing around. Didn't speak with them really. / Verena, an artist from argentinia, showing her hand-made rings, earrings and other jewellery, to sell them if someone likes. / Elias, a "hippie" living in the caves, meditating and such since four month. / Andy, boyfriend of Verena and - guess what - the jung blond man Malena greeted a hour before, the one of the Esperantos staff.

Went to swim also. Nice clean water. Really warm also compared to the last Teneriffa days.
