Tag 6: Queenstown - Wellington

Es ist Zeit um sich von Queenstown zu verabschieden, denn heute geht es für mich nach Wellington. Diese Stadt hat eindeutig einen Platz in meinem Herzen gefunden. Es ist die aktuelle Hauptstadt von Neuseeland. Der Securitycheck geht wie immer hier in Neuseeland extrem schnell. Das liegt wohl auch daran, dass der Queenstowner Flughafen extrem klein ist. Trotzdem kann man von hier aus auch nach Australien fliegen.

Mit mir im Flugzeug sitzen einige Fans der All Blacks, da diese morgen gegen Südafrika spielen. Ich komme mit einer älteren Dame ins Gespräch welche neben mir sitzt. Sie lebt 2 Stunden von Queenstown entfernt und geht morgen mit ihrem Mann auch zum Rugbyspiel. Sie hat mich eingeladen mitzukommen.

Eine Sache welche man über mich wissen sollte ist, dass ich es nicht wirklich mag in Hostels zu sein. Ich will die Kultur und Natur einer Stadt bzw. einem Dorf sehen. Deswegen habe ich mich dazu entschieden ins Kino zu gehen um den Film Blakkklansman zu schauen. Dabei handelt es sich um ein Komödien-Drama. Allerdings sollte der Film meiner Meinung nach keine lustigen Aspekte beinhalten. Der Film handelt von einem schwarzen Undercover Detektiv welcher sich in den KKK einschleusen soll. Es geht um ein Thema, welches nicht auf die leichte Schulter genommen werden sollte. Am Ende des Films wurde aktuelle Bilder von gewissen Umständen in Amerika gezeigt. Darin bekämpfen sich die Weissen und Schwarzen. Ist all diese Gewalt wirklich notwendig? Ich bin eindeutig dagegen. Meiner Meinung nach sind wir alle gleich wenn wir geboren werden. Die Verhaltensweise der Menschen kann sich natürlich verändern. Dies hat aber mit der Erziehung und deren Umfeld zu tun.

Ich entschuldige mich dafür, dass ich von meinem Reiseblog abgeschweift bin. Allerdings ist es ein wichtiges Thema welches man ansprechen sollte. Ich bin mir noch nicht wirklich sicher was ich von Wellington halten soll. Mir hat es in Queenstown eindeutig besser gefallen. Dies liegt vor allem daran, dass es weniger Leute in Queenstown hat (ca. 13'000). Denn im Vergleich leben in Wellington um die 200'000 Menschen. Um ehrlich zu sein bin ich über diese Zahl überrascht. Ich dachte es wären mehr Einwohner.

It’s time to say goodbye to Queenstown cause today I’m heading to Wellington. This place now definitely has a place in my heart. It’s the current capital city of New Zealand. As always I’m through security check pretty fast. The main reason for that is probably cause the airport is really small. Despite that it’s possible to take a flight to Australia from here.

There are a couple of All Blacks fans on the plane with me, cause they are playing against South Africa tomorrow. I start a conversation with an elderly lady next to me. She lives 2 hours away from Queenstown and is also going to the rugby game tomorrow. She is joined by her husband. She invited me to join them.

One thing u need to know about me, is that I don’t really like to stay at hostels. I wanna see the culture and nature of a city or town. That’s why I decide to go to the cinema to watch Blakkklansman. It’s a comedy-drama movie. But in my opinion it shouldn't have any fun aspects. The movie is about a black undercover officer who is investigating the KKK. It's a subject which shouldn't be taken too lightly. At the end of the movie some current pictures of the circumstances in America were shown. There were scenarios in which white and black people were fighting each other. Is all of this violence really necessary? I don't think so. In my opinion all human were born equally. People's attitudes can change of course. Depends on how they were raised.

I'm sorry that I got distracted from writing my travel blog but it's an important subject to talk about. I'm not quiet sure what to think about Wellington yet. I definitely liked Queenstown better, that's because there aren't that many people in Queenstown (around 13'000). On the other hand Wellington has a population of around 200'000 people. I'm actually surprised about this number. I thought there were probably more inhabitants.
