Lombok 🇮🇩 - earthquakes at a paradise island

After the exhausting cleaning of Rosy in Malaysia we went to Lombok to relax and make a break from „travelling“. We spent 2 nights at a really luxurious hotel to belatedly celebrate Bernhards birthday. We met a really nice Austrian couple and enjoyed speaking „austrian“ german to other people. Then we made our way to the famous Gili Islands and also spent some nice days there. Back on Lombok we have rent a scooter and had a look around the island cause the landscapes there are just breathtaking. Beautiful white and black beaches, clear water, good temperatures and almost no people. On our last day we decided to stay one night at the airport hotel, as our flight was starting in the morning. This turned out to be the best idea, cause when we were standing in front of the reception to check in, suddenly everything started to shake. All the people were running outside of the hotel to find a safe place. After some hours we read that it was again a very strong earthquake and a tsunami warning was made. So all the people at the coasts were evacuated and brought to safer places in the inland. The rest of the night the hotel was shaking constantly because of the aftershocks, so we had a pretty restless night. We really feel sorry for the people there, cause we heard of other strong earthquakes since we left and many people died or lost their homes.
