19. Tag - day 19 (for english scroll down)

Freunde der gepflegten Unterhaltung – nun muss ich mal mein Leid kundtun: Erstes Bild. So wache ich morgens auf. Zoe eingerollt in der Decke wie eine Raupe im Kokon. Für mich bleibt da nicht viel übrig…. Also stehe ich mit den Hühnern und einer Zimmernachbarin auf. Die hat zwar Deckentechnisch keine Probleme, aber dafür ein fettes im Badezimmer. Eine faustgrosse Spinne!! Mantra mässig sage ich mir, dass die so fett ist, dass sie bestimmt nicht in unser Zimmer in ersten Stock krabbeln mag. Zoe sage ich natürlich nichts. Die würde sich nicht nur in der Decke einrollen, sondern sich auch noch in den Koffer falten. Da heute Sonntag ist, gehen wir der Brunch-Tradition nach und lassen es uns in einem Caffè am Meeresufer mit wunderbarer Aussicht gutgehen. Es gibt leckeren French Toast und wir denken fest an Andreas, der uns gezeigt hatte, wie man die richtig macht. Auf dem Plan stand heute ab in Norden. Hawaii Island ist 122 Kilometer breit und 150 Kilometer lang und vereint elf der 13 Klimazonen der Welt. Heute sind wir mindestens 5 davon begegnet! Der Nord-westen ist insgesamt touristischer, dafür ist dort auch ein bisschen mehr Leben. Restaurants, Bars, Kaffees und wunderschöne Strände reihen sich aneinander. Und voila es gibt sie eben doch. Das Suvretta/Oberägeri von Hawaii. Eine Villa nach der Anderen mit Infinity pool und hohen Zäunen liessen der Fantasie freien Lauf… Zoe wollte schon beim Einten oder Anderen klingeln und fragen ob man sie nicht aufnehmen würde, ich war wegen der Spinne Gedanklich bei ihr, aber nein, so eine Unterkunft ist ja auch Charakterbildend. (nicht dass das unbedingt auf unserer To Do Liste gestanden wäre, aber man muss ja alles mal erlebt haben). Das kulturelle Highlight des Tages waren die Petroglyphen. Das sind Felszeichnungen aus dem 13 Jahrhundert, neben abstrakten Symbolen sind auch Menschen, Schildkröten und Kanus zu erkennen. Die hätten allesamt auch unsere ungeteilte Aufmerksamkeit bekommen wäre da nicht der Hänsel & Gretel Wald gewesen den wir durchqueren mussten! Zu allem Elend war da auch keine Menschen Seele (Petroglyphen interessieren die Amis entweder nicht, oder sie wussten von dem gruseligen Wald). Zum goldigen Abschluss gings zum Lava Lava Beach Club. Ein wunderschönes Strandrestaurant wo man mit den Füssen im Sand speist, begleitet von Lieve Musik zum Sonnenuntergang. Besser geht’s nicht. Leider kann ich kein Video auf den Blog laden, aber der groove war phänomenal und die Musiker – der Cousin von Obama und Troubadix (der gefürchtete Sänger bei Asterix & Obelix), nicht wegen der Stimme aber wegen dem Schnurrbart gaben alles und bescherten uns einen unvergesslichen Abend 😊

Dear lovers of the groomed entertainment – I do have to share my suffering: First picture. That’s how I wake up every day. Zoe rolled into the blanket like a caterpillar in its cocoon. There isn’t much left for me…. Therefore I get up with the chickens and my next door room-neighbor. She doesn’t has a blanket problem, but a worse one in her bathroom. A spider the size of a fist!! I keep on telling myself in mantra style, that she is too fat to crawl up to our room in the first floor. Of course I don’t tell Zoe anything. She would not only role herself up in the blanket, but also fold herself into the suitcase. Today its Sunday and we follow the Brunch tradition. We went to a Coffeeshop at the seashore with an amazing view and enjoyed every moment. We had yummy French toast and remembered Andreas who thought us how to do them. Up north was on our plan today. Hawaii Island is 122Km wide and 150Km long and entails eleven of the 13 Klima zones of this world. Today we encountered at least five of them! The north-west is overall a bit more touristic, but it therefore also offers’ more liveliness. Restaurants, Bars, Coffeeshops and beautiful beaches line up next to each other. And voila – there it is. The Suvretta/Oberaegeri of Hawaii. One Villa after another with infinity pool and sky-high gates triggered our phantasy.. Zoe was about to ring their bells to ask if they would not terribly mind to host her, with the spider in mind I was with her, but no, our accommodation is very character-building. (not that it was on our to do list, but one has to experience it all). The cultural highlight of the day were the Petroglyphs. These are rock carvings from the 13th century, where not only abstract symbols but also people, turtles and canoes can be seen. They would have had our undivided attention, it wasn’t for the Hansel and Gretel forest which we had to traverse! Moreover there wasn’t a soul which made it even more scary (either Petroglyphs don’t interest the Americans or they knew about the Hansel and Gretel forest). The day ended fabulously at the Lava Lava Beach Club. A beautiful beach restaurant where one east with the feet in the Sand, accompanied by live music until sun sets. Unfortunately I can not up-load videos onto the blog, but the groove was phenomenal and the musicians – the cousin of Obama and Troubadix (the feared singer in Asterix & Obelix), not because of his voice, but because of his mustache gave it all and provided us a unforgettable evening.
