On July 31st, we rented a bike and did a nice tour through Vancouver. We started at the harbour and drove around Stanley Park. The little detour to Beaver Lake was nice, otherwise the park was a bit disappointing. That day was also Pride Parade. As we passed it, it was great to see all people in a good mood and many dressed in rainbow colours.
Next, we took the Aquabus to Granville Island. We liked that part of the city the most. It is great to take a stroll between all the art shops and ateliers. Plus, the Public Market is overwhelming! There is an incredible amount of different stalls, all with delicious looking food from fruits to fresh domestic meat to huge pies and pralines. Honestly, it was hard to decide what to have for lunch.
After that, we drove further to the west end of Vancouver, passing plenty of beaches until we stopped at Tower Beach to go for a swim in the Pacific Ocean. First time for me! For dinner, we savoured the Italian cappelletti (filled pasta) we bought at Granville Island.
The next day, we used the time to work and plan the further trip. Fortunately, a very good piano was available at our accommodation. Since I hadn’t played in months, I took a great delight in playing again.
