Hasta luego Isla Cozumel - Hola Mexico Ciudad

Veröffentlicht: 07.08.2016

Hola to everyone who is still keeping track of what Im doing these days!

I have to admit that I took my time writing about my time in Cozumel but since I was around 3 weeks on this island - I did not feel like writing every week and to bore you with casual routine stories. But what I can say right away ...Cozumel welcomed me warmly and I feel blessed that I got to meet very amazing people.

Sunset, Cozumel

In my first days on the island I walked around a lot and as I was out on one of my first evenings I passed an old skate park. As I got closer I saw kids playing on the half pipes and I don't know why but this memory is stuck in my head. Probably because the thought of 3-7 year old's crawling over a 1 meter high ramp took my stomach  rather not so well. To clarify that Mexican parents are responsible - they were right next to their kids-. I am just sad that they had no other option because there was no playground close by to go to. To get to the point right away...I am very grateful that I grew up in Europe for those kinda little but big things, but there are always two sides of everything  so I don't want to judge.

...I also visited a Zumba class that was right on the street where I lived and here's an advice to every tourist...Just don't do it on an Island where the humidity is 100% high. It was nice it after all.... but I have to admit that I might have underestimated it a little  bit. Especially as they said "Hasta manana" and I just thought....I doubt it.

So now lets come to what Cozumel is famous for. Diving and Snorkeling...the beautiful reefs of Cozumel drive millions of tourist in every year. But here comes my confession: No I didn't dive at all and yes I know, shame on me. But now I have a pretty good reason to go back there. I still have a year ahead of me and I did not want to spend my money right a away -my friends are probably shaking their heads about me right now because this is so typical for me- and if I do it, I do it right which means doing a dive master internship. A perfect transition to what I'll probably keep in mind the longest of Cozumel...the people, I met there.

A shout out to all the amazing pals, who did their divemaster internship in Cozumel and and let me spend there time with them...seriously I cannot put into words how wonderful it is to meet people who are open minded and sharing the same passion as  yourself. When you travel it does not matter where you're from or how old you are ...people just accept you for who you are so I feel blessed everyday.

So today I arrived In Mexico city which means my next post will be about my experience in my sweet host family.

Best wishes xx
