Hello Hello! 😉

Die letzten Wochen war ich sehr beschäftigt! Über die letzten Wochenenden hatten wir viele Camps. 

Darunter gab es das Mutter-Tochter Camp, das Vater-Tochter Camp und das Camp für Pferdeliebhaber. 🐴

Unter den Aktivitäten, die meistens draußen stattfanden waren Klettern an der Kletterwand, der Vertrauenskurs im Wald, Ausritte, Chillen am Lagerfeuer, Springreiten, Westernreiten, Schießen und vieles mehr. Das Highlight ist und bleibt aber die „Nachricht auf dem Berg“. Eine Andacht auf einem Langhorn-Bullen! Das muss man einmal gesehen haben! 🐂

Es war manchmal auch kalt draußen und der Schnee ist heute wieder gekommen. 🌨 Es ist unglaublich, dass ich im Mai nochmal meine Winterjacke rausholen muss! Willkommen in Pennsylvania, da gibt es fünf Winter. 😂

Was habe ich sonst noch so gemacht?  Ich war am Sonntag wieder schießen! Diesmal habe ich eine Smith & Wesson 460V geschossen! Das hat Peng gemacht! 😝 Aber ich befinde mich ja noch im Training. 

Am Dienstag habe ich wieder bei meiner Beratungsfamilie zu Abend gegessen. Diesmal gab es was ganz feines. Wir hatten Reh! Sowas esse ich normalerweise nur zu Weihnachten oder so! Aber hier wird ja viel gejagt, da hat man sowas schon mal öfter in der Tiefkühltruhe. 😉

Am Donnerstag hatten wir wieder Tag der Fähigkeitsentwicklung. Diese Tage sind immer spannend, da ich viel über diese Kultur lerne und auf alles mögliche vorbereitet werde. Dieses Mal hatten wir die „Überlebens“ Klasse, damit wir überlebensfähig sind. 😜

Unsere Ausgangssituation war, dass wir einen Flugabsturz in den Bergen im tiefsten Winter überlebt haben und nun 36 Stunden überleben müssen, bis uns jemand findet. Welche Werkzeuge würdet ihr mitnehmen? Gar nicht so einfach die Reihenfolge nach Wichtigkeit festzulegen. 😅

Danach wurde uns noch gezeigt, wie man Feuer macht. Am besten sammelt man viele Äste und formt diese zu einer Kegelform. Darein tut man was schnell brennbares wie trockene Blätter oder Stroh am Wegesrand.

Jetzt kommen wir zum Thema Tiere: Ich habe die letzten Tage zum ersten Mal ein wildes Chipmunk gesehen und musste direkt an den Film „Alvin und die Chipmunks“ denken. Kennt ihr den Film? Das Chipmunk sieht schon ein bisschen aus nach Alvin. 🐿😂

Wir haben wieder neue Baby Tiere auf der Ranch! Darunter befinden sich neue Fohlen, ein Baby Meerschweinchen und Beagle Welpen! Soo süß 🥰 Die sind übrigens bei meiner Beratungsfamilie. Ich habe heute Abend mit auf die kleinen Racker aufgepasst. Natürlich konnte ich mir auch nicht entgehen lassen mit Coco, der Katze, zu schmusen. 🐈☺️

Die Sommercamps rücken immer näher und wir brauchen immer noch mehr Mitarbeiter für den Sommer!

Hello Hello! 😉

The last weeks I was very busy! Over the last weekends we had many camps.

Among them there was the mother-daughter camp, the father-daughter camp and the camp for horse lovers. 🐴 

Among the activities that mostly took place outside were climbing on the climbing wall, the confidence course in the forest, horseback riding, chilling around the campfire, show jumping, western riding, shooting and much more. But the highlight is and remains the "message on the mountain". A devotion on a longhorn bull! You have to have seen that once! 🐂 

It was sometimes also cold outside and the snow came again today. 🌨 It's unbelievable that I have to break out my winter jacket again in May! Welcome to Pennsylvania, there are five winters. 😂

What else have I been up to? I went shooting again on Sunday! This time I shot a Smith & Wesson 460V! That went bang! 😝 But I am still in training.

On Tuesday, I had dinner with my advisor family again. This time we had something really fine. We had deer! I usually eat something like that only at Christmas or something! But here we hunt a lot, so you have something like that in the freezer more often. 😉

On Thursday we had again skill development day. These days are always exciting because I learn a lot about this culture and get prepared for anything. 

This time we had the "survival" class so we can be survivors. 😜 Our starting situation was that we survived a plane crash in the mountains in the dead of winter and now we have to survive 36 hours until someone finds us. What tools would you take with you? Not so easy to put in order of importance. 😅

After that, we were shown how to make fire. The best way is to collect many branches and form them into a cone shape. In it you put something quickly combustible like dry leaves or straw on the side of the road.

Now we come to the topic of animals: I have seen the last few days for the first time a wild chipmunk and had to think directly of the movie "Alvin and the Chipmunks". Do you know the movie? The chipmunk already looks a bit like Alvin. 🐿😂 

We have new baby animals at the ranch again! Among them are new foals, a baby guinea pig and beagle puppies! Soo cute 🥰 They are with my advisor family by the way. I helped watch over the little rascals tonight. Of course I couldn't pass up cuddling with Coco the cat either. 🐈☺️ 

Summer camps are getting closer and closer and we still need more staff for the summer!
