Hey an alle, die das lesen! 😃

Es wartet ein etwas längerer Blogeintrag auf Euch! 😅 Ich bin das erste mal ganz alleine in den Urlaub gefahren! Da gibt es natürlich eine Menge zu erzählen! 😂 So reich beschenkt wurde ich während dieser Zeit! 

Also dann fange ich mal an. Letzten Mittwoch Morgen bin ich nach Los Angeles geflogen. Ich bin aus Pittsburgh rausgeflogen und mein Flug ging um die 5 Stunden. Ihr fragt euch wahrscheinlich, warum ich wieder nach Kalifornien gefahren bin. Ich wollte immer schon mal Los Angeles erkunden. Da leider keine andere Person von der Ranch Zeit hatte mit mir zu gehen, habe ich entschieden, dass ich dann halt alleine losgehe. Für die ein oder anderen wahrscheinlich gar nicht vorstellbar. 😅😂 

Aber ich kann sagen, dass Dinge und Situationen passieren werden, die man eventuell nicht erleben würde, wenn man mit jemanden verreist. Man lernt zudem selbstständig zurecht zukommen und nicht abhängig von jemandem zu sein.  Es ermöglicht einfach ein sehr großes persönliches Wachstum. Auf solchen Reisen sieht man erstmal sehen, wie mutig man sein kann. 😊

Der Flug war wirklich entspannend. 😄 Erstens, muss man in den Vereinigten Staaten ja nicht mehr Maske tragen, wenn man mit dem Flugzeug fliegt und zweitens, war der Platz neben mir frei. Zwei Plätze weiter saß eine ältere Frau, die zum ersten Mal in ihrem Leben geflogen ist! Sie war etwas aufgeregt und redete gerne. So habe ich mich mit ihr unterhalten und ihr immer ein Update gegeben wie weit wir denn schon geflogen wären und wie lange es noch dauert. 😉

Da ich am Mittwoch (1. Juni, 2022) schon relativ früh in Los Angeles gelandet bin, hatte ich mir schon einen Plan gemacht für den Tag. Der hieß dann ungefähr so: Check-in das Gepäck im Hotel, melde dich bei deinen Eltern, dass du heile angekommen bist, Bekomme deinen Zimmerschlüssel und pack meine Sachen aus, gehe zum Santa Monica Pier und genieße den Tag. ☺️ 

So hatte ich mir eine 7-tägige U-Bahn Karte (Tapcard) geholt, mit der ich U-Bahn und Bus so oft benutzen konnte, wie ich wollte. ;) Das war echt praktisch, aber ich sag’s euch: Ohne Google Maps wäre ich echt verloren gewesen. 😜

Am Santa Monica Pier angekommen, fand ich das Route 66 End of Trail Schild vor und Musiker, die verschiedene Cover Lieder spielten (Mason & Julez Couthino). Lauter Souvernir- und Essensstände gab es entlang des Piers. Ich wollte aber noch ein bisschen mehr sehen und so dachte ich, dass ich mal eben zum Venice Beach rüber laufen kann. Haha, ist auf jeden Fall nicht „mal eben“ gewesen. Ich habe ganze 1 1/2 Stunden gebraucht zu Fuß. 😂 Die hatten einen gepflasterten Weg, wo man drauf laufen konnte. Andere sind aber auch Rad oder Inliner gefahren. Dort angekommen habe ich den berühmten Venice Skatepark gesehen. Ich war noch ein bisschen am Strand und habe die frische Meerluft genossen. 🌊 Die Palmen da waren einfach mit Graffiti besprüht worden. Das ist mal ein ganz neuer Style. 😎

Am nächsten Tag (Donnerstag, 2. Juni, 2022) wollte ich das Griffith Museum sehen, da ich gehört hatte, dass man von da eine wunderschöne Aussicht hat auf die Stadt. Also bin ich mit dem Bus Los Felix auf in die Berge gefahren. Von diesem Standort konnte man auch das Hollywood Zeichen in der Ferne sehen! 😍 Danach bin ich weiter gefahren zum Universalstudio, wo ich natürlich ein Bild mit der Kugel haben wollte. Ich bin allerdings nicht in den Park gegangen. Fand ich alleine dann doch zu doof. 😅 Es war schon früher Nachmittag. Ich überlegte, was man noch so machen konnte. Mir wurde der Besuch im Getty Center empfohlen, da der Eintritt kostenfrei ist und es einiges zu sehen gibt. 🙂 Es war schon schön - vorallem der Garten! 🥰

Freitag Morgen (3. Juni, 2022) war es dann soweit. Meine Tour durch Hollywood war an diesem Tag. Als ich morgens mit der U-Bahn zum Walk of Fame gefahren bin, musste ich staunen. Schon immer einmal wollte ich die Sterne der Stars auf dem Boden sehen. Aber jetzt haltet euch fest. Jeder Star muss $50,000, also ungefähr 47.000 € zahlen, um sich verewigen zu lassen. 😅 Das Geld wird wohl an Organisationen gespendet. Das war nur eine Sache, die der Reiseführer uns erzählt hatte. 

Unser erster Stopp war bei dem Hollywood Zeichen. Unsere Kleingruppe, bestehend aus 7 Leuten, konnte am Besten und am aller nächsten Platz das Hollywoodzeichen sehen. Nur wenige kommen so nah, es sei denn, du wanderst ein paar Stunden. Aber ne, du kannst da auch hochfahren. ;) 

Auf der Tour habe ich mitbekommen, dass ein Mann von unsere Gruppe von Manchester (England) kommt und der Pfeifer (David Morris) aus dem Film Mama Mia ist. Habt ihr den Film schonmal gesehen? Ich nicht, aber muss ich wohl bald mal machen. 😂

Die Tour ging weiter nach Beverly Hills, wo uns Häuser von ein paar berühmten Persönlichkeiten gezeigt wurde. Ich habe zum Beispiel das Haus von Katy Perry gesehen. Aber auch von der Band, die das Lied Gangnam Style herausgebracht haben. Zudem habe ich gesehen, in welchem Anwesen Michael Jackson gestorben ist und wo Justin Timberlake lebt. Natürlich war die Sicht begrenzt, da alles abgezäunt und abgeriegelt ist zum Schutz vor Paparazzis. 💁🏼‍♀️ 

Weiter ging es mit der Besichtigung des Rodeo Drives, wo ich gerne mal eingekauft hätte. 😉 Natürlich nur, wenn es bezahlbar gewesen wäre… 🫣😂 Abgeschlossen wurde die Tour mit dem Beverly Hills Zeichen. 

Am Abend wollte ich zu einem Lobpreis Abend gehen von der Renew Kirche. Doch als ich am eingegebenen Standort ankam, war keiner da und alles war abgeschlossen. Nach einer erneuten Recherche fiel mir auf, dass das Event woanders ist. So habe ich mich auf den Weg gemacht und kam leider etwas später an. Ich wurde sehr willkommen geheißen und konnte schnell Kontakte knüpfen. So gute Kontakte, dass ich mit einem der Mädchen sogar was unternahm am nächsten Tag. 😇

Debbie, meine neue Freundin und ich sind Samstag (4. Juni, 2022) nach Malibu gefahren, um uns die Westküste anzusehen. Das Wasser war Türkis blau Farben und es war sehr windig. Das Lied von Miley Cirus über Malibu mussten wir natürlich auch hören auf unserer Fahrt dahin. 😂 

Nachdem wir das Hannah Montana Haus gefunden und angesehen haben, waren wir hungrig und sind am Malibu Pier essen gegangen. Das war wirklich gutes Essen, aber seht selbst. 🍴 🍲

In dem Hotel, wo ich übernachtet habe, bin ich sogar auf einen ebenfalls allein reisenden Deutschen getroffen. Es hat Spaß gemacht, mal wieder in Deutsch mit Menschen zu kommunizieren und Erfahrungen untereinander auszutauschen. 🙂

Am nächsten Morgen (Sonntag, 5. Juni, 2022) bin ich auf zur nächsten Kirche. Da wir in Deutschland viele Lieder von Hillsong singen, wollte ich auch mal in eine echte amerikanische Hillsong Kirche gehen. Allerdings waren meine zuvor gehabten Erwartungen ein bisschen enttäuscht worden. Ich habe mich nicht so willkommen gefühlt, als wie zuvor in der anderen Kirche, von der ich schon erzählt hatte. Doch die Predigt war trotzdem ganz gut! 😊

Über die Mittagszeit, wo es dann relativ warm wurde, habe ich mich in das The Broad Museum verzogen, was ebenfalls freien Eintritt hatte und viele schöne Kunstwerke zeigte. 🖼 

Ein nächster Kirchenbesuch stand vor der Tür. Diesmal ein Abend Gottesdienst. Doch als ich bei der Grace Community Kirche in Sun Valley ankam, wo übrigens der berühmte Pastor McArthur predigt, stellte ich fest, dass es eher eine Frage-Antwort Runde über die Bibel und das christliche Leben ist. 

Ein junger Deutscher Mann hat auch eine Frage gestellt. Ich musste aufhorchen, als ich hörte, wo er herkam. Ich war ein bisschen überrascht. 😅 Man denkt ja nicht, dass man hier jemanden trifft, der die gleiche Sprache spricht. Nach der Fragerunde musste ich ihn natürlich wissen lassen, dass ich auch aus Deutschland komme. 😉 Also bin ich auf ihn zugegangen und habe gefragt: „Germany?“ 😃 Als wir dann beide gemerkt haben, dass wir deutsch sprechen, haben wir uns ein wenig unterhalten. Er ist auf Geschäftsreise gewesen. Es ist sogar noch einer in unseren Kreis gekommen, der in Deutschland geboren wurde und seit einigen Jahren in Los Angeles wohnt. 

Ein Ehepaar und deren Sohn von der Kirche, hatten uns eingeladen Straßen Tacos zu probieren. Ich kannte nur normale Tacos zuvor. Aber gibt es da wirklich so einen großen Unterschied? Naja, ich habe es dann herausgefunden. 😂 Sie schmecken schon ein bisschen anders und man kann verschiedenes Fleisch hineinmachen. Dadrüber machte ich dann eine Art Avocado Sauce. 🥑 Straßen Tacos in Los Angeles kann ich dann auch abhaken. ✅😂 

Am darauffolgenden Tag (Montag, 6. Juni, 2022) war schon mein letzter Tag angebrochen, bevor ich wieder am Abend zurückgeflogen bin zur Ranch in Pennsylvania. Ich wollte die letzten Stunden noch nutzen, um den Grand Central Market zu sehen, welcher übrigens voll mit Menschen war. In der Mitte stand auch noch ein Kamerateam. Ich habe einen der Männer gefragt, was denn gedreht wurde. Es wäre für eine Kochsendung und die Darsteller wären wohl aus Italien. Da ich ja auch gerade sehr viel im Medienbereich mache, musste ich mir das einfach ansehen, wie die das so gefilmt haben und so. Bis ich von einem Mann abgesprochen und gefragt wurde, ob ich zum Team gehören würde. Dann hab ich zurück gefragt: „Nein, sehe ich so aus?“ 😂 Als Antwort bekam ich dann: „Ja, du bist hübsch, du solltest da vor der Kamera stehen.“ 😂 Sowas passiert auch nur am Central Market in Los Angeles. 😂 

Kurz darauf wollte ich noch in einen Buchladen (The last bookstore) gehen. Nicht, um Bücher zu kaufen, sondern eigentlich nur, um den Bücher-Tunnel zu sehen. Aber sehr selbst in der Bildergalerie. 😇

Als ich auf mein Taxi gewartet hatte, wurde ich draußen vor dem Buchladen wieder angesprochen. Ein Mann mit Glatze sagte zu mir: „Entschuldige mich?“ Ich fragte: „Ja?“ Er sagte weiter: „Kannst du mir ein wenig von deinen Haaren geben?“ Wir beide mussten lachen. 😂 

Mein Taxi kam und ich konnte mich sehr gut mit dem Taxifahrer unterhalten. Ich war auf dem Weg zu den Warner Bros Studios. Da habe ich also in 20 Minuten erzählt was ich mache in Amerika. Er hatte mir erzählt, dass er noch Bibelstunde hatte am Abend. Das öffnete nochmal ganz andere Gesprächsthemen. 😊Kurz bevor er mich dann rausgeschmissen hatte, meldete er mir zurück, dass ich ja sehr offen wäre und irgendwie so einen Frieden ausstrahle. Dann sagte ich zu ihm: „Weißt du, was mein Name bedeutet?“ Salome, also Shalom heißt übersetzt der Friede oder die Friedliche. Wir beide mussten schmunzeln. 😄

Da war ich also. Bei den Warner Bros Studios. Ich habe eine Führung über das Gelände gemacht und konnte mehr über die Entstehung von Warner Brothers lernen. Das interessierte mich wirklich sehr, denn auch ich möchte zumindest irgendwas im TV oder in den Medien machen. ☺️ Das konnte ich mir also nicht entgehen lassen. 😅 Schaut euch einfach mal die Bilder an, vielleicht erkennt ihr ja einige der Schauplätze wieder. Zum Beispiel von den Serien Pretty Little Liars, Friends, All Americans oder sogar Harry Potter. Habe ich alles noch gar nicht gesehen. 😂 Aber naja, war trotzdem cool und erstaunlich zu sehen, dass man eine Kulisse so viel umgestalten kann, dass es schon wieder passt. Die ganze aufgebaute Stadt kann sogar die Jahreszeit ändern. Es gibt dort spezielle Gärtner, die sich nur darum kümmern. Manchmal kann es zwei Wochen dauern, bis eine Kulisse fertig ist, damit dort gefilmt werden kann. Natürlich haben die dort auch Maler und komplette Raumgestalter, die alles herrichten. 😅

Am Nachmittag habe ich mich noch einmal mit Debbie verabredet. Sie hat sich wirklich sehr um mich gekümmert die Zeit über und sich wirklich Zeit für mich genommen, mir meinem Aufenthalt so schön es geht zu gestalten. Nicht auszuschließen all die Tipps und Ratschläge, die ich erhalten habe. ☺️ Ich habe sogar spanisches Essen probieren können, bevor mich Debbie dann zum Flughafen wieder brachte! 

Ich kannte die Tage über dann halt jemanden in der Stadt, wo ich wusste, dass ich Hilfe bekommen würde, wenn ich sie (dringend) brauchte! So ein Geschenk des Himmels! 🌠

Cool! Ihr habt es bis hierher geschafft zu lesen! Doch ich möchte noch mal eben einen Gesamt-Einblick geben von der Stadt. Es wird wirklich immer nur die goldige Seite von Los Angeles und vor allem Hollywood gezeigt. Doch dabei wird nie erwähnt, wie viele Obdachlose Menschen hier auf der Straße leben und bei den U-Bahn Stationen herumsitzen. Es gibt eine sehr große Spaltung zwischen arm und reich und es ist nicht einfach zuzusehen in welchen Verhältnissen diese Menschen leben. 😕 

Ich war in komischen Situationen, wo sich Obdachlose gegenseitig angeschrien haben und man dachte, das gleich was eskaliert, wo einer Flaschen um sich geworfen hat und randalierte und ich aufpassen musste, dass ich nicht getroffen wurde, wo einer in die U-Bahn seine Mundspülung ausspuckte… 

Es tut weh, zu sehen, wie Menschen leben müssen und warum sie so werden, wie sie werden. Wo ich mich immer frage: „Was ist der Grund, dass dieser Mensch auf einem Stück Pappe schläft und im Müll nach was Gebrauchtbarem sucht?“ Diese Menschen brauchen Hoffnung! ☹️

Da ich alleine gereist bin, musste ich mich trotzdem selber schützen und habe einige Bereiche der Stadt gemieden. Aber ich wurde ja ganz gut beschützt und versorgt von oben! ☝🏻 Aber auch von Menschen, denen ich begegnet bin und die zusätzlich immer ein Auge auf mich hielten und sogar nicht wollten, dass ich im Dunkeln mit der U-Bahn oder dem Bus fahre. 😅

Ich habe mich nie alleine gefühlt. Auch wenn ich Anfangs alleine losgezogen bin. Ich kann alle nur dazu ermutigen das Gleiche zu tun, vielleicht nicht in LA, da es vor allem Abends in der Stadt gruselig wird. 😅 Man sollte es halt mindestens einmal gemacht haben in seinem Leben. Ich kann euch sagen, dass ich sofort nochmal alleine reisen gehen würde! 🧳😊

So, genug vom Reisebericht jetzt! Ich wundere mich, ob das der längste Reisebericht ist, den ich je geschrieben habe auf meiner Website. 😂

Hey to everyone reading this! 😃

There is a slightly longer blog entry waiting for you! 😅 I went on vacation for the first time all alone! There is of course a lot to tell! 😂 So richly gifted I was during this time!

So then I'll get started. Last Wednesday morning, I flew into Los Angeles. I flew out of Pittsburgh and my flight was around 5 hours. You're probably wondering why I went back to California. I have always wanted to explore Los Angeles. Unfortunately no other person from the ranch had time to go with me, so I decided to go alone. For one or the other probably not even imaginable. 😅😂

But I can say that things and situations will happen that you might not experience if you travel with someone. You also learn to manage on your own and not be dependent on someone. It just allows for a lot of personal growth. Traveling like this is the first time you see how brave you can be. 😊

The flight was really relaxing. First of all, in the United States you don't have to wear a mask when you fly on an airplane, and secondly, the seat next to me was free. Two seats over was an older woman who was flying for the first time in her life! She was a little excited and liked to talk. So I chatted with her and always gave her an update on how far we would have flown and how much longer. 😉 

Since I landed in Los Angeles relatively early on Wednesday (June 1, 2022), I had already made a plan for the day. It was called something like this: Check in the luggage at the hotel, report to your parents that you have arrived safely, get your room key and unpack my things, go to the Santa Monica Pier and enjoy the day. ☺️

So I had gotten a 7-day metro card (Tapcard) that allowed me to use the metro and bus as many times as I wanted. ;) That was really handy, but I'll tell you, I would have been really lost without Google Maps. 😜

Arriving at the Santa Monica Pier, I found the Route 66 End of Trail sign and musicians playing various cover songs (Mason & Julez Couthino). Loud souvernir and food stands were along the pier. I wanted to see a bit more though, so I thought I'd walk over to Venice Beach. Haha, has been in any case not "times evenly". I needed a whole 1 1/2 hours on foot. 😂 They had a paved path where you could run on it. But others went biking or inline skating. Once there I saw the famous Venice Skatepark. I was still a bit on the beach and enjoyed the fresh sea air. The palm trees there were simply sprayed with graffiti. That's a whole new style. 😎

The next day (Thursday, June 2, 2022) I wanted to see the Griffith Observatory, because I had heard that you have a beautiful view of the city from there. So I took the Los Felix bus up into the mountains. From this location you could also see the Hollywood sign in the distance! 😍 After that I drove on to the Universalstudio, where I wanted to have a picture with the ball, of course. However, I did not go into the park. I found going by myself too stupid. 😅 It was already early afternoon. I thought about what else could be done. I was recommended to visit the Getty Center, because the entrance is free and there is quite a bit to see. 🙂 It was really beautiful - especially the garden! 🥰

Friday morning (June 3, 2022) was the day. My tour of Hollywood was that day. When I took the metro to the Walk of Fame in the morning, I had to be amazed. Always wanted to see the stars of the celebrities on the ground. But now brace yourselves. Each celebrity has to pay $50,000, which is about 47.000 €, to be immortalized. 😅 I guess the money will be donated to organizations. That was just one thing the guide told us.

Our first stop was at the Hollywood sign. Our small group, consisting of 7 people, was able to see the Hollywood sign the best and the very closest place. Few get that close unless you hike for a few hours. But nah, you can drive up there too. ;)

On the tour I heard that one of our group is from Manchester (England) and that he is the whistler (David Morris) from the movie Mama Mia. Have you ever seen the movie? I haven't, but I guess I'll have to sometime soon. 😂

The tour continued to Beverly Hills, where we were shown houses of a few famous people. For example, I saw the house of Katy Perry. But also of the band that released the song Gangnam Style. In addition, I saw in which estate Michael Jackson died and where Justin Timberlake lives. Of course, the view was limited because everything is fenced off and cordoned off for protection from paparazzi. 💁🏽‍♀️

We continued with the tour of Rodeo Drive, where I would have liked to shop. 😉 Of course, only if it would have been affordable... 🫣😂 The tour was concluded with the Beverly Hills sign.

In the evening I wanted to go to a worship evening from the Renew Church. However, when I arrived at the location I entered, no one was there and everything was locked. After researching again, I noticed that the event was somewhere else. So I headed out and unfortunately arrived a little late. I was made very welcome and was able to make contacts quickly. So good contacts that I even did something with one of the girls the next day. 😇

Debbie, my new friend and I went to Malibu Saturday (June 4, 2022) to see the west coast. The water was turquoise blue colors and it was very windy. Of course we had to listen to the song by Miley Cirus about Malibu on our drive there. 😂

After finding and looking at the Hannah Montana house, we were hungry and went to eat at the Malibu Pier. It was really good food, but see for yourself. 🍴 🍲

In the hotel where I stayed, I even met a German who was also traveling alone. It was fun to communicate with people in German again and share experiences with each other. 🙂 

The next morning (Sunday, June 5, 2022) I left for the next church. Since we are singing a lot of Hillsong songs in Germany, I also wanted to go to a real American Hillsong church. However, my previously held expectations were a bit disappointed. I didn't feel as welcome as before in the other church I had already told you about. But the sermon was still quite good! 😊

Over lunchtime, where it became relatively warm, I made my way to The Broad Museum, which also had free admission and featured many beautiful works of art. 🖼

A next church visit was just around the corner. This time an evening church service. But when I arrived at Grace Community Church in Sun Valley, where by the way the famous Pastor McArthur preaches, I found out that it was more of a question and answer session about the Bible and the Christian life. 

A young German man also asked a question. I had to sit up and take notice when I heard where he was from. I was a bit surprised. 😅 After all, you wouldn't think you'd meet someone here who spoke the same language. After the Q&A, of course I had to let him know that I'm from Germany, too. 😉 So I walked up to him and asked, "Germany?" 😃 Then, when we both realized that we spoke German, we talked a bit. He has been on a business trip. We even had someone else come into our circle who was born in Germany and has lived in Los Angeles for a few years.

A couple and their son from church, had invited us to try street tacos. I had only known regular tacos before. But is there really such a big difference? Well, I found out then. 😂 They taste a bit different and you can put different meats in them. On top I made a kind of avocado sauce. 🥑 Street tacos in Los Angeles I can then also tick off. ✅😂

The following day (Monday, June 6, 2022) was already my last day before I flew back again in the evening to the ranch in Pennsylvania. I wanted to use the last hours to see the Grand Central Market, which by the way was full of people. There was also a camera crew in the middle. I asked one of the men what was being filmed. It would be for a cooking show and the actors would probably be from Italy. Since I am also doing a lot in the media area, I just had to see how they filmed it and so on. Until I was talked out of it by a man and asked if I would be part of the team. Then I asked back, "No, do I look like that?" 😂 Then in response I got, "Yeah, you're pretty, you should be in front of the camera there." 😂 Something like that also only happens at Central Market in Los Angeles. 😂

Shortly after that I wanted to go to a bookstore (The last bookstore). Not to buy books, but actually just to see the book tunnel. But very self in the picture gallery. 😇

As I waited for my Uber, I was approached again outside the bookstore. A bald man said to me, "Excuse me?" I asked, "Yes?" He continued, "Can you give me some of your hair?" We both had to laugh. 😂

My Uber came and I was able to have a very good conversation with the Uber driver. I was on my way to Warner Bros Studios. So there I was telling him in 20 minutes what I was doing in America. He had told me that he still had Bible study in the evening. That opened up completely different topics of conversation. Shortly before he kicked me out, he told me back that I was very open and somehow radiated such peace. Then I said to him, "Do you know what my name means?" Salome, meaning Shalom translates as the Peace or the Peaceful. We both had to smile. 😄

So there I was. At Warner Bros Studios. I took a tour of the grounds and was able to learn more about how Warner Brothers came to be. I was really interested in that, because I too would like to do at least something on TV or in the media field. ☺️ So I couldn't pass that up. 😅 Just look at the pictures, maybe you recognize some of the locations. For example from the series Pretty Little Liars, Friends, All Americans or even Harry Potter. I haven't seen all of them yet. 😂 But well, it was still cool and amazing to see that you can redesign a backdrop so much that it already fits again. The whole built up city can even change seasons. There are special gardeners there just to take care of that. Sometimes it can take two weeks to get a set ready to film there. Of course, they also have painters and complete interior designers there to get everything ready. 😅

In the afternoon I had another appointment with Debbie. She really took care of me the time over and really took time for me to make my stay as nice as possible. Not excluding all the tips and advice I received. ☺️ I even got to try Spanish food before Debbie then took me to the airport again!

I knew someone in town over the days then just where I knew I would get help if I needed it (badly)! Such a godsend! 🌠

Cool! You guys have made it this far to read! But I just want to give an overall glimpse of the city. It is really always shown only the golden side of Los Angeles and especially Hollywood. But it is never mentioned how many homeless people live here on the streets and sit around at the metro stations. There is a very big split between rich and poor and it's not easy to watch in which conditions these people live. 😕

I've been in weird situations where homeless people were yelling at each other and you thought something was about to escalate, where someone was throwing bottles around and rioting and where I had to watch out that I didn't get hit, where someone spit out his mouthwash in the metro…

It hurts to see how people have to live and why they become the way they become. Where I always ask myself, "What is the reason that this person is sleeping on a piece of cardboard and looking in the trash for something used?" These people need hope! ☹️

Since I was traveling alone, I still had to protect myself and avoided some areas of the city. But I was quite well protected and taken care of from above! ☝🏻 But also from people I met and who additionally always kept an eye on me and even did not want me to ride the subway or bus in the dark. 😅

I never felt like I was alone. Even though I did go off on my own in the beginning. I can only encourage everyone to do the same, maybe not in LA as it gets scary especially in the city at night. 😅 You should just have done it at least once in your life. I can tell you that I would go traveling again on my own in a heartbeat! 🧳😊

So, enough of the travelogue now! I wonder if this is the longest trip report I've ever written on my website. 😂
