dó: the last days

𝓱𝓮𝔂 𝓮𝓿𝓮𝓻𝔂𝓸𝓷𝓮,

I'm just a little over two days away from starting the biggest adventure in my life, so I thought I'd give you a little update on how I'm doing...

𝔀𝓱𝓪𝓽 𝓱𝓪𝓿𝓮 𝓘 𝓫𝓮𝓮𝓷 𝓾𝓹 𝓽𝓸?

Ever since my last post a long time has passed. My summer holidays started and are already over again. I went on holiday with my family and just enjoyed the free time until I had to start getting ready for my exchange.

Over the last few weeks, I now used the time I had to see my friends and family for the last time before going away and saying goodbye to everyone. I also bought everything I'll need, packed my suitcases and finished the picture book for my host family.

Throughout all of this I stayed in touch with my host mum a lot more than previously.

I'm now in my last week before the flight. To be more specific, today was my last full day in my hometown.

The last week here wasn't as enjoyable as I hoped it'd be. At the start of this week I wasn't feeling the best and was afraid I wouldn't be able to go abroad. However this already changed and I'm now more ready than ever, to finally start my year in Ireland.

𝓱𝓸𝔀 𝓪𝓶 𝓘 𝓯𝓮𝓮𝓵𝓲𝓷𝓰?

For the most part I'm really excited to be doing this. I can't wait to see the Irish scenery every day and get to meet my host family. Right now I also couldn't be happier with where I'm going to live.

However I'm slightly scared of the day of my arrival. I'm not one to like flying and I'm already stressed, knowing I'll have to get on a plane again. Also the thought of not finding my LSC at Dublin Airport has crossed my mind more often the last few days.

I'm sure most of my fears are totally unnecessary and everything will go fine that day but that doesn't make it easier.

But even thought I'm thinking about everything a lot lately and even thought I'm scared of some parts, I'm mostly excited for this new chapter in my life.

𝓼𝓸 𝔀𝓱𝓪𝓽'𝓵𝓵 𝓱𝓪𝓹𝓹𝓮𝓷 𝓷𝓮𝔁𝓽?

Tomorrow I'm going to Frankfurt from where I'm flying to Dublin on Saturday. After that a bus will get me into my Irish Town and I'll get to meet my host family there.

I'll have to quarantine at the home of my host family for the next 14 days, before I'll be allowed to go to school.

In school I'll participate in the Transition Year which is equal to 10th grade.

More detailed information about school and my life on Ireland will come as time goes on and once I settled down.

I'm sure the next time I'll post on here, I'm already in Ireland with my host family.

Until then,

Slán,
