Day 6 - Sooo many places to visit

Veröffentlicht: 19.08.2016

Today was a great day 😀😀😀 (except of one thing) although the weather was not the best. I got up and it was grey and cloudy like yesterday. Nikki said it will be brighten up later. I wasn't sure, but maybe I should trust her. 😉 She is the one, who lives in Cornwall. The hope, that I will meet someone at the breakfast ended fast. I was the first one at the breakfast room and after me there were only two couples, a younger and an older one, who didn't look like they wanna talk with me. 😂 But it was ok. I was'nt so motivated to talk much English in the morning. 😉 I only talked a little bit with Nikki. She brought me two different cushions for my visit at the Minack Theatrethis evening. I could choose which one I would like to take with me. She is so lovely. 😍

After breakfast I started my full day-program. First I went to St. Michael's Mount. This is a tiny island with a big garden and a castle. It's not far away from the coast and if it is low tide is away, you can walk to the island. And it was low tide, so I took a walk with many other tourists to the island. At my first look to the island the castle was surrounded by clouds. I walked along the island, through the garden, up to the castle and inside the castle. The air was very sticky like it is in South-East-Asia but not so hot. I sweated, but most of the time I had to wear my jacket. The garden as well as the place in front of the castle were beautiful. 😊 Inside the castle it was ok. 😉 You can't go up to the castle without buying a ticket for inside the castle. The English people aren't stupid.

When I returned from the castle, I saw a very long queue at the cash for the castle. That moment I recognized that I was really clever, because I bought the combi-ticket at the gardens entrance. When I left, it wasn't so grey as it was before. Nikki was right, it has been brighten up. 😊 There were still clouds but sometimes some sunrays. I could see St. Michaels Mount better, now. It is really beautiful to see this islands. Later I also saw it by better weather, but I couldn't take a picture. If you want to see it better then on my pic's, ask google. 😉😁

After my visit at St. Michael's Mount I visited St. Ives for a second time. It is really beautiful. 😀😀😀 It looks so brilliant, although it isn't sunny. It looked better as it seems on the pic's. Most of Cornwall has so beautiful colors. It's hard to describe. You have to see it. 😁

In St. Ives, there were also many tourists. It's one of the famous places in Cornwall. In the village there are many nice lanes. Some of them are full of tourists and some of them are empty. That's funny. I also walked along the harbour, the coast and the beach. Porthminister beach is a beautiful beach. I was searching such a beach in Torquay. So this time I found the beach, but the weather wasn't food enough to lying in the sun and swimming in the sea. 😂 I'm notsure if I would ever go into this water, because it is very very cold. 😄 I walked at the beach with my feet in the water. So I know what I'm talking about.

Before I left St. Ives, I wanted to eat something. At the beach there was a bbq, where I ordered a chicken burger. I thought it would be a good idea to eat outside next to the beach. In the meantime it was a little bit sunny from time to time. I got all single parts of my burger and could add them to the bun how I wanted to have them. So I prepared a good burger for me. It looked very good. Then it happened. Most of you will laugh about it, but for me it was a nightmare. 😩😟 When I just had looked away from the burger, a seagull came and stole one part of my bun. The meat was flying over the table and seagull flow away with my bun. It was so horrorable. 😨 I fear birds anyway. So maybe you can imagine how I felt. And the seagulls here are very big. I always had a careful look at them beforehands.

The people at the beach bbq told me, that I should go back to the cook and say to him what happened and then I would surely get a new one. But I didn't want to eat there anymore. For this holiday I will never eat near a beach, coast, harbour or something else. From now on nothing can shock me anymore.

So I still was hungry and walked to a little burger restaurant, where I could sit inside. I was sitting next to an Austrian family. It was very nice to talking to them in German. Unfortunately they had just finished thei meal when I came, so they didn't join me for a long time. They were very impressed, that I travel alone. They are travelling through Cornwall by car and told me how it is to drive here. They said that they should had better taken a car with automatic. I'm pleased, that I haven't rent a car, although it would be much better to travel by car.

After my lunch, it was time to go back to Penzance. Due to the "problems" with the seagull I lost time and had to hurry up. I went back by bus, walked fastly to the B&B to dress up for the theatre and walked rapidly back to the bus station. I booked the trip to the Minack Theatre at travel agency. A little bus picked us up. I arrived at the meeting point four minutes before the departing time was and was the last one. I was the only German at this trip and was the latest one. And that although we are famous for our punctuality. I'm sorry for this. ☺

At the trip I met an elderly English couple, Molly and Michael, who are living near Bath. They were so cute. 😍 I talked much with Molly. I told her that Cornwall is famous in Germany, because of the novels/movies of Rosamunde Pilcher. She hasn't heard from her before. Then she took her smartphone and asked google. She found an article, which said that many people came to Cornwall because of Rosamunde's novels. She showed me this article and shared it on facebook with the comment that "Vanessa from Karlsruhe, Germany told her about this this". So sweet! 😍😍😍 My grandmother didn't know things like smartphone, facebook ar internet. She also gave me the advice to watch the series "Poldark", which is also be produced in Cornwall and it's very famous here. The second season will start Sunday in a week on BBC One. She also recommended me a book, which is called "Rebecca", but I forgot the name of the author. 🙈

The Minack Theatre is a theatre in front of the coast, built on the cliffs. You are sitting in a half round and towards the "stage" you see the sea. That's great. It is difficult to describe. See the pic's. Next to the theatre there is Porthcurno beach, one of the most beautiful beaches of Cornwall. Before the play started, I could have a look at the beach. It was wonderful. It's a shame that I can't come back for enjoying it. But there are so many places I wanna see and I will leave Penzance on Saturday.

Molly and Michael have been there a few days before, when the weather was still good. They showed me pictures. There were many people on the beach. What a surprise. 😉😁

The play we enjoyed at Minack was "The Clockmaster's Daugther", a lovelly musical story. It was wonderful, but in the end it was very very cold. I weared many things, but it wasn't enough. 😁 During the play we also had a little bit rain, but not as much as yesterday. The show yesterday was cancelled because of the rain and the show tomorrow is also cancelled (like my trip to Scilly Islands), because it should be extremely windy in the evening. So we were lucky, that we booked the show for the right day. 😀😀😀

The funny thing is, that in Germany I didn't go to the open air cinema anymore, because it often is so uncomfortable when it becomes colder in the evening. But I was at the open air theatre in England. 😂😂😂 Although it was uncomfortable because of the cold weather, I enjoyed it very much.
