My date with Agatha

Veröffentlicht: 29.05.2017

Greenway House was Agatha Christies summer house. She and her family spent there the holidays for years. Today it is a part of the National Trust and everyone can take a look in Agatha's life.

So I had done! I went there with the steam railway from Paignton (very stylish) and took the shuttle bus to the house (very comfortable). First I visited the house and it's seemed the family lives still there.  Mail and hats on the table, domino on the carpet, weird decoration, as a horse head at the stairs, all of this made a special atmosphere. Look at the pictures you will see what I mean!

Short break with egg sandwich and a drink at the barn and then exploration of the  garden. Lots of ups and downs to see the peach house, a nursery where they grow new plant and went down to the boat house through a wood of different trees. Wonderful sights from the boathouse on the river. Than turned to the camilia garden, must be very impressing when it is flowering. At least I went down to the ferry, where I take one to Dartmouth. Good by, Agatha.

While waiting in Dartmouth for the bus, I was eaten delicious chips with ketchup and watched the doves (or they watched me and my chips ?) The bus tours were always a great pleasure, sitted on the second floor and enjoyed the landscapes  of Devon.
