Beautiful Tokyo

Veröffentlicht: 09.05.2025

I didn't expect this day to be so great.

It definitely didn't start great:

With less than 5 hours of sleep, I had Japanese class at 8.30 am with a grammar test. After that there was another class and I went to the cafeteria alone, because I am (still) behind on uni stuff.

I met up with Tobi in Akihabara -  the otaku part of Tokyo.

At the station, we smelled something delicious. And got it

puff pastry with cream 380Yen

approving smile:)

I was pretty tired - understandably - and after a much-needed coffee put my stuff in a locker. The coffee thing isn't getting out of hand - yet. It tasted kinda good I have to admit

This was caramel ? 530Yen
Locker 600Yen

I do recommend putting a Google Maps pin there too!

After that, the coffee kicked in and we just strolled through some anime shops. I was really good to remember all the fun I had watching them a few years ago.

I kinda stopped watching, without any particular reason. I don't miss it. I still watch shows on Netflix and sometimes Animes, but it's not the same. I still love all the things I did in my teens and early tweens. It's just different now? Well, I guess we all grow out of things.

Ahhh who doesn't like overpowered Naruto

We found some place where we tried arcade games!

Someone's excited!

This was a sailor/attack/anime/ship game? I didn't play that one, but I helped Tobi translate everything. Thank you, Google translator pictures!

200Yen

I did play that, though! But honestly I have never been good at dancing xD But it was fun nevertheless!

Here, a few things to look at :D

level up!

Food

Welllllll, of course we got food. I still have some things I want to try here. And one of them was Korean barbecue! We found something in like 10 minutes. Google Maps is a lifesaver!

Well, this one was actually Japanese barbecue, but I recommend that one too!

(Don't be embarrassed to smile, Tobi :))

Our own grill!

What we got!

This was hands down the best meat there. So we got some more

Me and food :)

After, we actually wanted to go to training. Buuuut we got held up. (And I am glad we did)

Remember when I put my backpack in a locker.

This one

Yeah, we couldn't find it anymore. Thankfully, the picture had a geotag (thank you past-me). After running around the station a bit. Tobi found it again. The stations here are a bit confusing, don't blame us.

I lend him my jacket. Why does it fit him better than me? smh....

After we realized, that we wouldn't make it to training, we searched for other activities in the evening.

That ended us up in a SAKE MARKET. It wasn't really a market, but an all you can drink bar. For 2500Y/person for 1.5 hours. I have never tried sake here before (yeah I know boo me). But they had a lot of options!

You get 3 glasses and self serve from here:

Pour your glass there and drink it at your table.

Mixing stuff

We tried around 5-6 sakes each. And played Academic UNO. It was really fun :D

10 minutes before we were about to leave, someone came in with KFC food? Like, apparently you can bring your own food to the bar?? Amazing. I need to go here again!

We got this idea, because of Instagram Reels, honestly. I saw someone post a recommendation of all you can drink sake, and we just searched for something similar. So all those hours on Instagram paid off, somehow :D

Talking of Instagram Reels. On German Instagram I got recommended a garden with clouds? So we left for that after.

I sneaked a few bites :)

Tobi got a 10Yen coin on the way! (It actually cost 600Yen, but it was really nice). It's fried batter with cheese inside :D

Tokyo Sea of Clouds

After being a bit rushed, we arrived, and thought it was closed. Because the main entrance was dark and locked up? We walked around a bit to at least find out when it's normally open, so we can go then. It is actually really close, to where I live. Like a 10-minute walk. I just didn't explore that part yet. We realized after searching for it before going to Sake Market.

Well, we got in. Like somehow it was still open (till 11pm).

And it was so much more than I could anticipate. Even though we didn't go during Sakura season. It was SO beautiful. Like, I don't think I have ever been more enamored with a garden than that.

Just look for yourselves

That's like, phone background worth
It's quite difficult to take pictures in this light, so I am proud of these ones:)))

Fishiiiies

beautiful lights everywhere

more fishies

becomes more difficult if there is another light there...
there are only 3 Pagodas in the whole of tokyo. This is one of them :)

First of Tobis pics

2 tricks later:D

AND THEN THERE WERE CLOUDS

We ran to get a better view of everything, when this unexpectedly started
(Clouds on the ground make your hair wet)

and your glasses too!

That is definitely phone background worthy. Good job Tobi!!

so much more little special places were there honestly. You need to experience it yourself

Even after if looked like dew:)

Diligently working on my photographing skills....

Thank you,

Tobi for discovering more of Tokyo with me☺️
