After exploring the Breakaways the other day and the surprisingly amazing views we decided to drive also to the Painted Desert north of Coober Pedy despite the very hot temperatures on that day.
On the drive there is at first only desert with some bush growing around waterholes, where you can also find Galahs, wildflowers as well bush tomatoes and Paddys melon, which are toxic to humans, sheep, horses, cattle, etc.
The drive through the Painted Desert is almost without any signs, except the one for the Mount Batterbee Lookout. Stuart enjoyed the views from this and other lookouts along the way. We stopped at various places at the painted desert trying to capture all the different hills and rocks with our photos.
