Nishny Novgorod was kind of posh with its fancy shopping street called Boshaya Ookrovskaya and a very (tourist-) friendly and clean atmosphere. Apart from the almost obligatory Kremlin, there were many things to see or to do, such as a nice cable car ride or the visit at the local Rock pub. BTW, I changed my accommodation from the local hostel to a much nicer room in a hotel. Sorry folks, I'm too old to share a bathroom with strangers. Call me snobby 😜
