Tag 3: Auckland

Trotz ein paar Unterbrüchen habe ich gut geschlafen. Ich packe meine Sachen und fahre zuerst von Flughafen wo ich auf den Skybus wechsle. Dieser befördert mich ins Stadtzentrum. Absichtlich steige ich an der Haltestelle aus die direkt sich direkt neben der Town hall befindet. Was ich jedoch nicht bedacht habe ist, dass ich nun einen Hügel hinauf gehen muss. Nach einem kleinen Kraftakt habe ich mein Ziel erreicht. Das YMCA Hostel. Ich deponiere mein Gepäck und mache mich auf den Weg ins Stadtzentrum. Das es bereits schon wieder Mittagszeit, entscheide ich mich dafür bei Denny's Essen zu gehen. Ich genehmige mir einen Chicken Burger und eine Coke. Der Burger schmeckt gut. Ich meine ich hatte schon bessere, jedoch aber auch schon schlechtere. Das Essen ist aufgegessen und ich mache mich wieder auf den Weg.

Nach einem 10 minütigen Spaziergang lande ich im Albertpark. Von hieraus hat man eine schöne Übersicht über Auckland. Meine Devise lautet ja immer man soll einfach drauflos laufen. Diese Denkensweise bringt mich meistens zu den interessantesten Ecken einer Stadt. So ist es auch in Auckland und mein Weg führt mich zur Auckland Domain, einem riesigen Park. Die Aussicht ist fast schon atemberaubend und das Wetter spielt auch einigermassen mit.

Nun bin ich erschöpft und kehre zu meinem Hostel zurück. Nun ist es möglich Einzuchecken. Mit mir im Zimmer ist eine Deutsche welche bereits einen Monat in Neuseeland ist und auf einer Farm gearbeitet hat. Vielleicht bleibt sie sogar bis im Mai in Neuseeland. Nach einem Nickerchen geht es mir schon besser.

Die Vorfreude auf das Hoodie Allen Konzert am Abend wird immer grösser. Um 19:30 verlasse ich dann das Hostel und begebe mich auf den Weg zum Neck of the Woods. Ich bin überrascht wie klein der Club ist. Es sind wahrscheinlich um die 100 Leute hier. Ausserdem sind sehr interessante Leute hier. Leute von denen man nicht erwartet, dass sie an ein Hip-hop Konzert gehen würden. Als Supporting-Act tritt Randa auf. Eine aus Neuseeland stammende Rapperin. Um 5 nach 9 ist es dann soweit und Hoodie betritt die Bühne. Es ist wieder einmal ein unvergessliches Erlebnis und er spielt meine zwei Lieblingssong. The chase is on & All my friends.

Even though I couldn't sleep all through the night. I slept well. I grab my stuff and am on my way to the airport. Here I jump onthe Skybus that takes me to the city centre. I get off at the station right next to the town hall on purpose. What I didn't think of is that now I have to walk up a hill. After a small show of strength I've reached my target. The YMCA hostel. I put my stuff there and head to the city center. Cause it's already lunchtime. I decide to grab lunch at Denny's. I take a chicken burger and a coke. It's a pretty decent burger. I mean I had better, but I also had worse. The food is eaten and I'm on the road again. 

After a 10 minute walk I'm stranding at the Albertpark. From here u have a nice view over Auckland. My motto is that u should just start walking. With this method I have seen some very cool places. It's also like that with Auckland and the path leads me to the Auckland Domain, a huge park. The view is almost breathtaking and the weather isn't too bad either.

Now I’m tired and going back to the hostel. Now it’s possible to check-in. I share my room with a German girl who has already been one month in New Zealand. She was working on a farm. Maybe she‘ll stay in New Zealand until May. After a nap I feel better. The excitement for the Hoodie Allen concert in the evening is big. At 19:30 I‘m leaving the hostel and heading to the Neck of Woods. I’m surprised how small the venue is. There are probably around 100 people here. Adding, there are very interesting people here. People of whom u wouldn’t think that they would go on a hip-hop concert. The supporting-act is Randa. She is a rapper from New Zealand. At 5 past 9 it’s finally happening and Hoodie is stepping on the stage. Once again it’s an unforgettable experience and he even plays my two favorite songs, the chase is on and all my friends.
