Tag 18: Auckland - Paihia

Als erstes esse ich das Frühstück welches mir gestern ins Zimmer geliefert wurde. Danach lasse ich den Geschirrspüler laufen. Die Sachen werden nur größtenteils sauber, deswegen muss ich die Bratpfanne nochmals selber waschen. Ja ich weiss dass man Bratpfannen normalerweise nicht in den Spüler stellt, da ich jedoch kein Handwaschmittel hatte habe ich das einmalig gemacht. Danach geht’s in die Stadt. Mein Gepäck kann ich beim Busterminal einschliessen. Ich gehe auf den Sky Tower. Er ist 328 Meter hoch. Man kann bis in den 60. Stock fahren und von dort aus Auckland betrachten. Die Plattform liegt auf 220 Metern.

Manchmal ist die Welt wirklich klein. Während ich auf meinen Bus nach Paihia warte, sehe ich einen Mann welchen ich kenne. Er war auch auf der Waitomo caves und Hobbiton Tour. Er steigt schlussendlich in den selben Bus wie ich ein und auch wieder aus.

In Paihia abgekommen komme ich wieder einmal nicht aus dem Staunen heraus. Es ist einfach so schön hier, mit all den kleinen Inseln. Mein Hotel ist auch alles andere als schlecht. Wieder ein Apartment. Ich gehe einkaufen und koche Penne mit Tomatensauce. Ich freue mich schon auf morgen. Dann geht’s zum Cape Reinga und dem Ninety Mile Beach.

First of all I eat the breakfast that got delivered into my room yesterday. Then I am starting the dishwasher. The dishes get cleaned mostly, that’s why I have to clean the pan again. I know that you normally don’t put a pan in a dishwasher but because there wasn’t any hand washing I did it once. After that it’s time to go to the city. I can store my luggage at the bus terminal. I am going to the Sky Tower. It’s 328 meters high. It’s possible to go up to the 60th floor which is located at a height of 220 meters. From there you have a beautiful view over Auckland.

Sometimes the world is really small. While I am waiting for my bus to Paihia I see a familiar face. A man that was also on the Waitomo caves and Hobbiton tour. Eventually he takes the same bus as me.

As I reach Paihia, I once again can’t stop being amazed. It’s just so beautiful here, with the little islands. My hotel isn‘t do bad either. An apartment again. I go grocery shopping and cook Penne with tomato sauce. I am excited for tomorrow when I am going to Cape Reinga and the Ninety Mile Beach.
