The whole damn thing is about decisions!

How would you feel, if you decide to leave everything behind and start a new life on the other side of the world?

This is exactly what i did. But first a few words to my self. I'm a german Girl, 23 Years old and love to travel. There is nothing more for me than to see the world, meet new people and enjoy the life. Before i came to Australia i worked for 3,5 years in a huge wooden company and did most of the time just office work. I spend the last year to mangage our own car pool and the transport of our goods all over europe. Every day was a agony for me to drive to work and to know that i will spend more than nine hours on this chair. No break, just a computer in front of me and a telephone which is ringing sustained.

I had the contract for a year and they wanted me to stay. But after my boyfriend decided to go to Australia i was thinking about this more and more. To go there, do some farmwork and travel became for me more and more a real option. After i heard of a girl, which flew to Australia with an Organisation, i read a lot about this. It sounded so good that i decided to start my adventure and quit my job.

Here we go. 09.01.2018 i had to say goodbye to my friends and parents, which came all the way with me to the airport. I rellay appreciated this, love to all of you. Now, after more than a year in Australia, i really can say it was the best decions ever in my life. I met so many people and could get  a lot of experinces.

To get the second year visa you have to work at least 88 days on a farm or 3 month stay on one farm. So i knew i have to do my farm work. After a weekend in Noosa, one week on the trainingsfarm and one week in the outback at my boyfriend's farm, i started my farmwork on a race horse farm nearby Brisbane. It was really hard for me at the beginning but after a couple of weeks it got better. Suddenly one of the employee got sick and the other one had 4 days off i had to manage the whole farm by myself. I had to take a lot responsibility. Also the bathroom and kitchen was in the stable, and my accommodation was a shipping container, which i had to share with a girl from Norway. After six weeks i had enough. I looked for another job, and found one next to Sydney in Young. It was an inside outside job. The Accommodation was amazing and the woman with her child was really nice. Even so the litte girl was a bit annoying. But i met a lot of people and saw a lot other farms and horse races. She was a vet and had a broken leg, so my job was it to drive her everywhere. But after a couple of weeks she could drive again so she didn't need me anymore. I just stayed a week longer to look after her house while she was on holiday.

After this my travelling started. At least for a few weeks. My german friend Marlena came to visit me. We met in Sydney and started with our camper van towards Byron Bay. We had such a good time!! We stopped almost every night somewhere else and we had 4 nights in byron. Byron is amazing!! If you ever go to Australia, you have to see it and you will love it. on the way back we saw a rainforest and we drove through the Blue Mountains. At this time it was back burning, which is just every 5 years. We were a little bit disappointed because we couldn't see the mountains but a man told us we were lucky to see this. After two weeks our time was over and i had to say goodbye again. It was really sad because we didn't know when and where we will see us again. It is the best thing in the wolrd to travel with a friend. Because one day you will sit together with a glas of wine and you can talk about the little roadtrip in Down under.

After this i moved in together with my boyfriend and a couple of weeks later i found a fulltime job two minutes walking frome home and the beach. The time was amazing, even so it was winter. In october i flew with a friend for two weeks to hawaii and i knew after this i have to complete my 88 farmwork days because my visa was running out.

So i found a job nearby Melbourne. It was called "polo groom", so i was really excited to work with horses again and learn more about Polo. One girl got kicked by a horse and she couldn't work anymore, so i had to do her job. Her job was tacking up the horses, train them and to be the groom at the weekly tournaments. At the beginning it was quite hard for me but after a time you get used to it and you get quicker. It is hard work. I can tell you, to be a groom is the worst work in the whole Polo world. You have to do the hardest work, the most work, you can't enjoy the game and you get paid at least of all. I know polo will never be my thing, it is just a sport for really rich people and to have fun.

After i compleded my 88 days i started a little roadtrip with my friend Vanessa from Chile. We rented a campervan and started at the end of the great ocean road. We had a few days to see all the beautiful spots. It is amazing. We became really good friends but after this adventure we had to say goodbye. I went back to Sydney, to work in my old job again and she went to Thailand to meet her boyfriend. Before she had to go back to chile to continue with her studying, she came for one week to Australia again and stayed with me in Syndey. We had a really good time and went with our car for a long weekend to Jervis Bay. Beautiful!!

Even to her i had to say goodbye after a week but one day i will come to visit her in chile, for sure! Now I'm still in Sydney and working in my cafe. We are trying to save as much money as possible to start travelling around the world.

You see, every path you take leads to another choice and some choices can change everything. Every damn moment of the rest of your life.
