Rain after sunshine

Veröffentlicht: 08.02.2020

I wanted to enjoy the last day of good weather on the beach and spontaneously opened an event on couch surfing. Hanna and Mark joined. We went to Noosa heads which is about 2 hours from Brisbane. It doesn't only have incredible beaches to offer but also a beautiful coastal walk and so called "fairy pools".

The beaches really ARE great

The first beach was well populated but there are plenty more like the one the picture above where only a few people are.

This is the populated one..
The coastal walk had great cliffs

We continued walking (luckily often under trees, it was super hot) to get to the fairy pools. We didn't really know what to expect, I had a vague info from a travel blog.

This is it!

It's natural pools that get flooded by the waves and are somehow filled with sand. Needless to say that they heat up very fast and are even warmer then the ocean.

This looks lovely but due to heavy waves it's impossible to get there or swim safely.
But the looks are amazing!
Mark enjoying the view. More beaches in the background.. there is so much beach that you have basically your own kilometer of sand here. And Noosa heads is a touristy area..
We decided to go back to a beach that offers some shade.
We found it and figured out that my hammock also is a great swing/hanging chair.
Amanda approves 👍
Afterwards we went to sunshine coast (I know everything has a ridiculous beautiful name here..)

About the names, everything sounds super beautiful except one place. We couldn't believe it When we passed it with the car. The area (or town) is called "murdering creek".

We had just 30 minutes before sundown and wanted to see how the beach looks like over there at sunshine coast. This jumping picture turned out very well so Mark and Amanda got more ballsy and wanted to do this high-five while jumping.

Witness the split second before Amanda has Marks hand in her face 🤣

For the next day we wanted to have a BBQ and went to that public barbecue places of the city, equipped with some steak, sausages, music, beer and pineapple.

The ones who used the BBQs before us had some fish left. Red snapper with butter and salt and just gave it to us because they were already full.

Super happy about the snapper we threw it on there and added some pineapple. It was superb 👌

Brisbane also has these big shiny letters with the cities name. It is a nice spot.

Next day I had to take some fotos for job applications back in Germany for when I return. I bought a 130$ shirt just to take a picture with it and return it the next day. Worked like a charm.

The serious me 👍 (the septum was turned into the nose for the shoot)

Once that was done, I decided to celebrate my future career with tequila.

I know this exact tequila from Germany, it was delicious and the reason for terrible headaches the next day.

It really is raining a lot here. It's either super rainy or very sunny and very humid (people here would say it's "muggy").

For some reason I lost that umbrella this evening (I blame the tequila here as well).
First stop: Bar with friends. That girl from Switzerland collected autographs on one page in her passport. Loving it!
This is her, finding out that her presentation for the next day got super wet.

We, that is Amanda, Tenille and me, went to Tenilles place. A lovely apartment in the 18th floor. The view from the balcony is really nice.

Now I realize I should have played around with the night mode of my camera 🤦‍♂️
This is us with our dinner, still looking good.
And this is us 6 hours later, not looking so fresh anymore..

The next day was really bad. I literally netflixed until 19:00, made dinner (a really nice recipe for noodles with a paprika sauce), kept on netflixing and slept again. 10/10 hangover day.

Best. Breakfast. Ever.

Today, I decided to make a motivational breakfast. Oatmeal cooked in a berry mix with Greek yogurt and ice cream. Don't judge me, with these temperatures I can always eat ice cream 😎

Right now I'll try to get the images from Amanda's GoPro. She took some shots from our beach adventure and I really want to have them. This night I might drive to Sunshine Coast again, couchsurf there for a night and return for Olufs but that needs yet to be organized.

Stay tuned and have a great day,

Laurin
