Day 4-7: Castellon- Having a break, having a...

ON THE ROAD..... AGAIN....

So as my motorbike quit, no way for me to move on. The weekend I had some rest which was not too bad at all but I admit that it was not really reassuring not to know where my bike is and what will happen on Monday. But I think I made the best out of it which means sleep, beach, food....food and.... food ...nice food! So I tried some of the best tapas bars around the corner (if we can believe Google) and spent some time to the beach to get some sun on my skin. I also went up to a small city named Benicassim, which is about 12km. there was a tiny -the people here call it "festival"- but it was more like a big market with beautiful clothes and accessoires and some music which brought it a bit closer to a festival. in any case, it was nice and I could change my mind for a bit.

I actually liked that place much more than Castellon where -by the way- I wanted to do some shopping on Sunday (yes, bad idea). The city was dead, no people on the street, no shops open; just simply nothing, just a few bars which were open during the day ( if we forget about the siesta of 2 or 3 hours)

Monday , let' s call it somehow as a wasted day, because I had to wait the call of the ADAC in Germany. They promised me to manage everything, which means looking for a garage and transporting my bike over there. It was already midday when they finally called me to tell me that they found a garage which could have a look at it, all the others were busy (or didn't want to work ?!) I went together with the guy to the SUZUKI shop-it was already 1 pm and guess what... of course nothing would be done until 3pm - as they will take their siesta for about 2 hours (fortunately, I extended my stay for another night). At exactly 6.30 pm they called me to inform me that everything is okay). So I went on Tuesday morning and was quiet happy to see that it was nothing really important (the tiny interruptor of the clutch was damaged). 29 Euros less in my pocket I could finally leave and drive down to Valencia.

The distance was short today, only about 80km between Castellon and Valencia. I couldn' t find a tiny road close to the coast so I took the highway for Valencia.

Hallo meine Lieben,

ich habe es endlich ein Stück weiter geschafft; nach 4 Tagen in Castellon (nun eine Verspätung von etwa 2 Tagen) und bin heute in Valencia angekommen. Das Wochenende war also mehr als entspannend, da ich nun bis Montag auf Neuigkeiten von der Werkstatt warten musste.

Mein Wochenende bestand somit aus Strand, Essen, entspannen und ein bisschen die Stadt entdecken. In Castellon selbst gibt es eigentlich nicht viel zu sehen, also kulturell eher arm und dazu kommt noch, dass anscheinend der Grossteil der Menschen in die Ferien gefahren ist. Jedenfalls war die Stadt so gut wie leer, Auch der Strand war nicht sonderlich gefüllt. Ich bin einen Tag in die etwas nördlich gelegene Stadt Benicassim gefahren. Dort gab es ein kleines Festival in und um eine Distillerie mit all den Menschen, die es in Castellon nicht gab, vielen Ständen mit accessoires und Kleidungsstücken, einige kleine Bands die gespielt haben, also eigentlich ganz nett. Sonst habe ich viel gegessen, viiiiel zu viel, aber ich habe wirkliche Geheimtipps entdeckt.

Am Montag rief mich dann gegen Mittag der ADAC an um mir mitzuteilen, dass sie endlich eine Werkstatt gefunden hatten; die sich um mein Motorrad kümmern wollte. Dort war ich dann Auch ca 13Uhr als der Chef mir dann zu verstehen gab ( in Französisch) dass sie jetzt erstmal für mindestens 2 Stunden Mittagspause machen würden (es sei ihnen also gegönnt) und ich übte mich noch weiter in meiner Geduld°. gegen 18uhr riefen sie mich dann an um mir mitzuteilen; dass alles wieder in Ordnung sei (den Rest habe ich nicht verstanden). Heute Morgen (Dienstag) fuhr ich dann zur Werkstatt und holte sie ab... war ich glücklich und noch glücklicher als ich erfuhr; dass nur ein kleiner Schalter kaputt war und mich dr ganze Spass nur 29 Euro kosten würde. Der weiteren Reise gen Süden stand somit erstmal nix mehr im Weg. Mich trennten heute nur 80 km von meinem nächsten Reiseziel, Valencia. Das wird wohl der einzige Tag mit kurzer Strecke sein; Die folgenden werden weitaus länger werden. In Valencia bleibe ich jetzt bis Donnerstag Morgen bevor es weiter nach Alicante geht.
