Friday we went east from our Camp near Custer goast town to Challis village on the " motorway". Easy ride, also took it easy. Had Lunch filled up supplies and gas. Cleaned the bikes and put grease on the chains. Road back on the northern route Challis river ...
Will upload photo of the map.
Planned for next Day to ride back 40miles and do the sleeping deere mountain trail 35miles into the wilderness.
So we did it. Road to the intersection then took a left and road through farm, cattle country into the mountains. First 10miles pretty rough and difficult road conditions plus steep.
Later than better, but close to the drop of all the times. Big rocks .... to circly by on top. Nothing but easy.
But we were pleased with great views and still it is fun to push the boundries.
We took a rest at the end of the road after 2h on this section. But time runs. We had to go back. On the way back a pack of 4 wheelers came the other way. We had to share the one lane road and eat the dust.
Nearly at the end on these difficult super narrow roads I spoke before I actually droped the bike. Needed to stop, a 4 wheeler came upwards and there was no no no room at all for both of us. I grapped a handfull too much of front break and slid. Shit happens, actually nothing serious happend.
Further on to Challis. Same Routine. Gas, food. Relax after 120miles dirt road.
Back to Camp again 35miles dirt.
.... it never end. I was so done for the Day. 155miles riding in standing Pposition and being aware and awake all time, just tooooo much.
Summary so far:
1050 miles (1700km) since Friday when we started from Nampa/Boise.
850 miles (1400km) on dirt, gravel, rocks, sand, near the drop offs, over trees, SNOW, and through water.
