Wieder zu Hause 👋

Sunday 01-03
At 05:30 the alarm went off and all the last items were packed. Unfortunately, it is time to go home.

We have a tough ride through the snow to the airport, with the highway completely covered in a thick layer of snow. We arrive at the rental company for the car over an hour and a half later than planned. We return the car and quickly take the bus to the airport.

Mom and Dad are experiencing a bit of stress and hopefully, we won't arrive too late for the flight.

At the airport, compared to Schiphol, it is really a mess. We are not welcome at the check-in desk for the luggage, we have to sort this out ourselves via a digital kiosk. Not long after, we manage to do this. When placing the suitcase on the scale, it is just a bit too heavy, 23.2kg. Quickly something was taken out of the suitcase and put back on the scale. Now it’s 25.3kg! What a hassle here! Error!
We use the check-in conveyor next to it and no problems, the suitcase is approved immediately.

We hear from other Dutch people that the flight is slightly delayed. This gives us a little breathing space to take it easy.

At the security check, Karlijn was taken aside and underwent an extensive check because of her pacemaker. This was quite an experience, totally different than at Schiphol. In the end, everything went well and we are ready in time for the gate.

This time we are sitting together in a row but not by the window. Marit quickly manages to sit by the window thanks to another man! Yes! And Marit is very happy. Marit thanked the man with candies😋

The flight goes smoothly and calmly. The girls are both entertaining themselves well. Karlijn with the tiptoi and Marit listening to songs and coloring.

Back at Schiphol, we have to walk to the farthest baggage carousel, and it takes a while before the suitcase arrives.

Quickly ate some fries and took the train home.

At the station, Grandma was waiting for us, the girls were so happy!!

They called out loudly for Grandma on the platform!

In the car, they immediately told Grandma all about the fish filleting. And of course, that Mom hit a tree with the snowmobile. Full of nice stories and memories, we went to bed.
