Tag 5 und 6

We boarded the train in Salzburg heading to Villach. The journey went through magnificent mountainous landscape! In Villach, we transferred to another train that took us further to Venice!

Sunshine and warmth, good thing the hotel was close to the station and Canal Grande.

The afternoon was spent exploring Venice!

Today we took a guided boat trip to two islands! On the first island, Murano, we visited a glassblower who showed us how different types of glass figures are produced!

On the next island, Burano, the houses were painted in many different colors so that sailors could find their way home in the fog.

We also watched an older woman making lace!

On our way home after the excursion, we saw the Bridge of Sighs. According to legend, condemned prisoners crossed the bridge and sighed! It was the last glimpse of light before the darkness of the prison!
