The Twelve Apostles

Veröffentlicht: 02.02.2026

In the state of Victoria, quite close to Melbourne (and “quite” really is the right word here — Australia is enormous compared to our tiny European countries), we can see a beautiful piece of nature’s art — the Twelve Apostles. What’s funny is that, in fact, there aren’t twelve of them! There are fewer than twelve, but it’s still a good name, isn’t it?

It was extremely windy when we got there, yet peaceful at the same time. As you can see in the pictures, there was nobody there, not even an animal. For humans, it would obviously be difficult to get down to those beautiful beaches, but we always find a way. Apparently, not during windy weather.

It’s part of the Great Ocean Road, an amazing route located in south-eastern Australia. I would totally recommend everyone go there, especially if you’re visiting Melbourne. Simply by driving a car, or even as a passenger, you can admire extraordinary views.

The world is beautiful, and Australia has a lot to offer. What felt crazy and fascinating to me was that when you look straight out at the ocean, the next landmass is… Antarctica! Perhaps if I headed further south, I might come across some small islands inhabited by penguins, but the first major piece of land is the beautiful, little-known, frozen continent of Antarctica.
