Cango wildlife

We took our time this morning, after breakfast we got picked up by the taxi and went to the wildlife cango ranch.

We had bought a premium ticket with one activity and a guided tour. First we joined the tour with our guide sebastian. We saw different birds, the little duiker antilope, fruit bats. Then some vultures, crocodiles and miniature hippos.

We continued with the cheeta , lions and tigers. Their enclosure where a bit small from the giant reserve that we are used too so that was bothering usa bit. Then the tour was already over and Larissa used her one activity to do the cheeta experience.

Here you were able to touch and pet a cheeta, me and lea stayed outside. They told us if we wanted to take pictures of our mother we could watch from the walkway. It has been a running joke that larissa is old enough to be either of our mothers since they thought Lea was Larissa's daughter at the bottliers kop. Larissa doesnt really like it.

Then we explored the rest of the park, it was well made but a lot smaller then expected. We some some snakes and also some cute little rainbow lorikeets again like in australia. They also had cool looking black wallabies.

Then we were already done withe the park so me and lea went to do our activity. CAGE CROC DIVING. Yes they had a enclosure with a pool with 2 crocodiles in it and you were able to go into the pool by cage. First we signed up and the lady at the counter asked me: "how old is the girl?" And lea who standing right next too me said: "I am 18!" (Its also a running joke that lea is really short)

So the lady appologized and let us in, then she explained the rules, gaves us goggles and the keys to the rest rooms. Larissa had a question so the lady said: " just wait you 2 I am just quickly going to talk to your mother." We laughed again it was a good day today.

So we changed into our swimming gear and stepped into the cage. We were both really nervous and after they asked us if we were ready they lifted the cage up with a crane and slowly lowered us into the pool.

The water was pretty chilly and it was a weird feeling to not be able to control your own descending speed. They told us the water gets about up to our shoulders which for me was my chest and for lea up to her chin.

We put our goggles on and looked around a bit but the crocodiles didnt show up. So we waited for a while watching the crocodiles laying on the other side. They called in their trainer after some time but he wasnt able to get their attention either.

So it got cold and we were pulled out of the water again. They told us that we could try again later.

So we changed again, went to our mother and then to the restaurant for a drink. After a while Lea went to check again and came back in a hurry telling us that now one of the crocodiles was active.

So we went back, changed again and jumped into the cage. The crane Ranger lowered us down without any mercy of the cold water this time.

Now the crocodile was really right next to us and we could hold our breath to watch it under water swimming around us. They took some pictures while we waved and looked at the beast. They also made some underwater pictures and my 2 brain cells that were active at that moment told me to open my mouth and smile. So I took a big old mouthfull of crocodile pool water into my mouth and immediatly went up to spit it out.

It got cold but we didnt want to leave. One of the rangers threw in some food next to us aswell and we saw it open its mouth with all its teeth. It wasnt fully grown but still big enough to be quite scary. It also looked directly at us under water and we saw straight into its eyes.

Then the cage got pulled up and we both were really happy that we waited for this. After a shower and a mouthwash on my part we went back to the restaurant for lunch. I also did just a short lemur activity were you could pet some lemurs while they sat on your lap. They were really cute.

Then we ordered a taxi back again to buffelsdrift.

We took a shower, had dinner and talked for quite a while until we went to bed.
