02.06.2023 Eco work and night photography

Back at the Eco Village some of the people already recognise and greet us.

The sun was shining again when we started with the wooden hiking path. We were very close to finishing it, just the last few supports and ramps were necessary to complete it.

We had new screws, charged drills and knew what we were doing so we could quickly teach the volunteers that were there for the first time.

Before lunch we managed to complete the path. It took 3days of work but it was very nice to be part of the start, middle and end of the project.

For lunch we had some tasty burgers today, keeping our morale high.

In the afternoon we fixed a few rotten planks in the old wooden path before we switched to some garden work.

The group consisted of a lot of the hong kong girls today and they had never done any work like this. So it was fun to see them learn and explain how to use a drill, saw or even a rake to collect leaves.

They also enjoyed it a lot.

Before we left the man who was working with us, Valtmir, told us a few stories of the village from old times. It was very noticable how much he loved the village and being able to work there.

He knows all the people and their troubles, he knows what needs to be fixed and always tries to think about what the founder of the village would have done before he decides something.

We headed back home for some dinner and a quick visit to the local hot tubs. Sadly the slide wasn't open today.

Afterwards it was time for a course in night photography, using our phone lights to create images and texts in the dark. 

Even though we did this at 02:00 in the morning it was so bright that we had to go into a forest so that it was dark enough.

We managed to get some nice photos which will be send to us later on.

Then it was time to return home and quickly go to sleep.
