First Month in my new home🇦🇺

Veröffentlicht: 27.08.2018

My journey started on the 26 of July 2018. It was really sad to say goodbye to my family and friends at the Hamburg airport. But also I was so excited to finally start this journey. I was waiting for this moment a half year now.

So after a 25 hours long journey, I arrived in Melbourne really sleepy and excited.

So far I was visiting a lot of places here, like Mornington Park, the Aquarium, and the Victoria Market in Melbourne. And of course, I've met so many new people. I'm definitely dreaming of knowing all their names. So still working at this point.

My first host family is a really caring family and extremely nice. I really enjoy staying with them. Also, I enjoy meeting with my new friends from school or with the other exchange students. I like to talk to them about their experiences and feelings or sometimes also problems.

The school is a big one, it's East Doncaster Secondary College. They have 1.600 students, and it's big as a little town. I am literally every day lost but all the students are really helpful and they are always showing me the way to my different classes. I'm taking six classes, English, P.E 11, Geography, Textiles, Photography, and Maths. I have found so many nice friends in school. I am laughing all the time with them and love doing things with them in Doncaster or Ringwood.

I'm so surprised by the opening mind from the Australian people. The culture is completely different to Germany and I am so thankful for this opportunity. They are driving on the left side imagine how shocked I was when my host family picked me up from the airport.

Overall I am enjoying my stay and I'm so excited for the next 11 months.
