Waterfalls, geysers, and fissures
With two of our luggage that has reappeared and a battle plan for today's activities, we're off! 🇮🇸 Steffi and Päpu had already planned early this morning how we could pack in...

Waking up to good news! 🌸
Early in the morning, we received news that the two other pieces of luggage have been found and will be delivered to us today at noon!!
With fantastic good spirits, we headed to "Vik Horses" - a riding stable in Vik. We took a one-hour ride on Icelandic ponies at a black beach! 🐴
Then we were all hungry and could enjoy breakfast.
Later, after some relaxing, we drove to Dyrholaey where we got to watch these funny birds called "Puffins" - also known as puffins. Sooo cute! We were also able to fulfill Päpu's wish of seeing a lighthouse there.
Then we continued to the basalt columns in Reynisfjara. Don't they look funny? And this black beach along with the rocks in the water creates a BEAUTIFUL view! 🤩
The one with the clever ideas Part 2 😎 I, of course, wanted to test how cold the Icelandic sea is, but I underestimated how fast those giant waves are. Result: Pretty much soaked shoes. 😂 > Moment captured in the pictures… 😁
At the end of today's adventures, we headed to the glacier. However, this glacier here was more black than white… 😂
With much worry about having to call roadside assistance, we made our way straight to a gas station!
That was a hair-raising close call! If a “bump” hadn't come our way that we could just roll down, it wouldn't have turned out well. 😬
And breaking news!!! We really & truly went swimming in the sea!! Jana and I even went all the way in!
The sea here is sooooo cold! 10 degrees! 🥶
After Steffi and Päpu went shopping, we had pasta with minced meat (Hörndli, which the Icelanders don't know) for dinner and we could all go to bed satisfied and full.
