Amelie Forssman: Hongkong Day 2

So today we, the „Langnasen“, started our tour at the hotel at 9:30am.

Firstly, we drove to a viewing Platform where we could see the impressive Hongkong skyline. There we took pictures while admiring the beautiful view.

During the tour we learned much about the city. Did you know that every mountain accommodates a dragon or that Hongkong is surrounded by 260 islands? But in only 240 of them live people.

After that we took a boat to see a fishing village where the fishermen live - that was a Trip of contrasts because on the right hand side there were the skyscrapers and yachts, on the left Hand side there were the worn boats of the poor fishermen.

Last but not least, we went to the „rich quarter“ to see Repulse Beach. The sand was fine and the water super warm. You can also find a Taoist temple right next to that beautiful Beach - and if you touch Buddha‘s belly, you‘ll be lucky for the rest of your life :-)

Living in Hongkong is very expensive, for example a room with 40m2 costs 1.600 Euro per month. Some people even live with four people on 10m2 because they cannot afford a bigger Apartment.

In the afternoon we had a bit free time and at 4:45pm we met again.

Our first stop was at the night market on Temple Street where we walked around and looked at the numerous stalls. We saw all the little market stands with their souvenirs and also some shops with typical food (Chinese people believe that nearly every special food is good for a person‘s health).

The next stage was a boat tour to visit the little island on the other side. We took many photos of the skyline by night and after that we could enjoy the spectacular light show underlined by music.

Heute haben wir, die „Langnasen“, unsere Tour um 9:30h am Hotel gestartet.

Zuerst sind wir zu einer Aussichtsplattform gefahren (Victoria Peak), um die Skyline honkongs zu bewundern. Während der Tour haben wir viel über die Stadt gelernt. Wusstet ihr, dass jeder Berg einen Drachen beherbergt? Oder, dass Hongkong von 260 Inseln umgeben ist? Jedoch nur 240 bewohnt sind.

Danach haben wir eine Boots Tour gemacht im alten Fischerdorf gemacht. Was sehr anders war denn auf der rechten Seite waren die Wolkenkratzer und die Yachten und auf der anderen Seite die abgewrackten Fischerboote.

Zuletzt führen wir zu dem Stadtteil wo die reichen Leute honkongs wohnen. Dort gab es einen Strand mit feinem weißen Sand und mit warmen Wasser. Das Leben in Hongkong ist sehr teuer denn ein Zimmer mit 40 Quadratmeter kostet 1.600 Euro im Monat. Manche leben sogar viert auf 10 Quadratmetern da es zu teuer ist.

Am Nachmittag hatten wir dann ein wenig freie Zeit, bevor es dann um viertel vor 5 weiter ging.

Unser erster Stopp war ein Abendmarkt, den wir erkunden durften samt der kleinen Stände, an denen Souvenirs verkauft werden oder typisches Essen.

Die nächste Etappe war eine Schiffstour um die gegenüberliegende Insel zu besichtigen. Wir haben viele schöne Erinnerungsbilder aufgenommen und konnten uns anschließend noch die schöne Lichtershow anschauen.
